Bloody hell, can't leave this thread for a day without getting enough new pages to make a short novel out of them.
Guess I have no choice, I can't work and keep up with the thread at the same time. I could quit work, but then I wouldn't be able to pay the bills. Guess I'll just stick to the most recent page and not bother going back.
I should probably add something anime related to this post ...
Now more than halfway through Michiko to Hatchin, and it's still great. I wish Michiko would get more character growth though. So far Hatchin feels like the only one who has really progressed. Well Jumbo's got a little bit of growth under her belt too I guess.

Michiko to Hatchin?
Mmm let's see.
It opens up with Michiko, the woman on the left, breaking out of prison and then "rescuing" Hana (A.K.A. Hatchin, the girl on the right) from her abusive foster family. Afterward they pretty much travel through the country (I think it has a name ... it's a fictionnal one anyway, but heavily based on Brazil and South America in general), running away from the law and looking for Hana's father, who's supposed to be dead but might not be after all and who was in a relationship with Michiko in the past. And it's not quit clear if Michiko is actually Hana's mother or not.
Personality wise, the two of them are complete opposites, and they clash pretty often.
Structurally, it reminds me a bit of the episodic parts of Cowboy Bebop. Most episodes have self contained stories.
The show can get somewhat dark at times but it's not very graphic. So far there's really minimal blood and almost no gore to speak of. Plenty of children abuse though, implied or otherwise. Some deaths. It's not all doom and gloom though, the show also has some humor to it.
Re-reading this post, it's a bit of a random mess, but I'm gonna stop here for now because I'm out of time. Look it up one day. I think you'd like it.

Huh it does sound interesting.
And at least it seems to have strong female leads.
So yeah, will list.

'Earthbound, this thing might honestly not be for you, but here's an essay that makes it sound freakin' awesome and its probably the best thing since sliced bread. So you know damn well you're gonna read it regardless.'
Just to clarify when I say it might not be for you I'm mainly just saying so because I don't know about your tastes and what you might or might not be ok with in terms of darker stories. As Sim said this story gets dark at times, it can be quite disturbing psychologically so I just wanted to point that out just in case that would be a problem. If you're someone that can handle those things then yes, definitely worth taking a look at.

But Isi has pretty much covered everything that needs to be covered.
Heh could have made it so much longer too X3 Just wanted to generalize it a bit. Then again I could have made it shorter too by going "Duality. Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng *insert me slamming my face on keyboard repeatedly*" ![]()
And yeah, Chewin is even better then me at describing these things IMO so I'd recommend checking out his posts on it for sure.

If I were to try and describe Berserk to somebody I think I'd fail at the mention of how awesome this 12 year old girl with a witch hat is.
By the way Isi.
You need to read One Punch Man.
So put it in your list for when you cross the border into the land of Freedom.

Are you kidding? You've made some fantastic Berserk posts in the past. Definitely a few in PM back when we were discussing it that were great. Don't sell yourself short. You especially get Griffith rather well. And you nailed your points on Schierke in your discussion with Lotion in the past too.If I were to try and describe Berserk to somebody I think I'd fail at the mention of how awesome this 12 year old girl with a witch hat is.

I'll add it to my list. It could take a while to get to it though. OP and 20th Century Boys will come first

Gunship-erm ... HORSE ARCHER RESCUE!!!
Blood and Steel continues to be an amazing action manhua if nothing else. The story is still genre typical and so far still focused on character progression in form of the MC finding himself, but the action is coming at a steady flow and BEAUTIFULLY drawn. And there's more and more diverse characters entering the cast, giving more and more insight into the ongoing situation. Oh, and political plot is brewing in the background too, so there's plenty potential for the story itself to gain some spotlight and go places.

Hahaha Isi don't take me too seriously there xD
Well yes.
But I err... yeah, I like to make fun of myself a lot.
Glad you are getting to 20th Century Boys eventually.
It's one of those manga that I couldn't put down.
Hopefully it'll be the same for you.
But OP is great, try to get to Nami's arc before you judge it.
Or even better.

It's actually been on my "to watch someday" list for a while. I'll get to it one day. Unless I die first. Which could happen.
Unless a necromancer decides to turn me into some sort of undead. Preferably a vampire or a lich. I'd be cool with being a regular old skeleton too. Just not a zombie or ghoul. I'd gross myself out.
