The TV series drags on a bit too long but the main heroine makes it a lot more watchable. I also love the 80s Japanese theme.

So Jugo's curse mark is Senjutsu. No way Kishimoto pulled that one out of his ass just to give Sasuke another advantage. No sir.

I saw it could be similar to Tenjho Tenge, which I loved for its good depiction of the fierce and concentration- 'n wrath-based stuff that lights any real martial arts' training and other similar-to-real-life basics of 'arts (tho obviously depicted in a way that's mythological even), + the better than Kenichi's fan service. But in Kenichi it all seems fake and wrong. Kenichi is like Street Fighter with the faster-than-light galore-special-moves thing, every character having only few moves and minimal representation of real life, whilst Tenge is more like Tekken (which resembles real fights surprisingly well, what with the reaction and moves' times, 120+ moves per character, improvisation, real-life based 'arts, memorytraining and 3d real important movement), though Tenge *is* a bit less serious, and a bit more crude.
(just wanted to have the comparison I thought of as striking... and feel free to oppose my view of SF)
Overall, it seems Tenjho Tenge >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> History's Strangest Disciple Kenichi. Or am I missing something? Only have watched a couple of episodes worth.
Given what I've said, care to recommend a fightin' anime?

I wouldn't know. I'm reading the mangaeroeru wrote...
I started watching the anime for History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi. Is it really worth watching? All I see is ok fanservice, backwards-thinking fighting stuff that hasn't any connection to real fights' training and stupid humor with lots of yelling.

I can't say, "Yes.". I've been enjoying the interaction between Kenichi and his masters and friends so far. The fights aren't particularly memorable after the fact and the way they transpire and end makes it hard to tell how much Kenichi is actually learning from his silly training sessions. I've been liking most of what I've read so far but what I like may be crap to you.eroeru wrote...
Will the story at the least be good?

Same's with Kenichi. Would love to enjoy another fighting anime, and on the surface, Kenichi does seem interesting. Thing is, I haven't felt it.

Vegeta, Piccolo, Tien, Frieza, Chi Chi, Bulma and Master Roshi English voice actors are quite good (from those who come to my mind). I actually think the dubber of Goku is better than his ****** VA!

Cowboy Bebop - wasn't much of a fan, tbh.
Darker Than Black - really liked it, though I wish certain things where explained better or at all.
Berserk - the ending was messed for sure but I did enjoy the character of Guts, he was like Kratos on steroids lol.
Legend of Korra Book One - Hella dope. I think I enjoyed it better the second time around.

@ The bolded - I'm going to have Troy bark on your ass for hours.
@ LOK - I agree, second time was much better for me, personally.

Casca - "So let me get this straight, you fought a hundred men because retreating isn't in your nature?"
Guts - "Yeah, pretty much."

It has flaws for sure, especially the hamfisted way they wrap everything up. But it still has a lot of things going for it, and if the writers legit thought they might not get another season I'll cut them some slack.

- Hei becomes side character, barely uses his mask or his black trench coat
- Suou is boring and very lame for a main character
- Mao goes from cute black cat to a ****ing momonga
- story is rushed, dissapointing and only becomes interesting in the last 3 episodes
- badass and heavy opening gets replaced by a cheezy pop opening, how can you go from this to this

The one thing i wonder about is the fantastical powerup Sasuke will need to surpass Madara. The guy is juiced up on Hashirama cells, has the Rinnegan & ems, and is an immortal zombie.

Not for me. Its capabilities always seemed rather vague compared to Senjutsu. It was always described as a general power increase with nothing extra attached. The Hierophant wrote...

Hilarious. Also it's good to see Sanji get serious despite him being outmatched by Doflamingo. Some Geth wrote...

True it's only basic natural energy not senjutsu. I rechecked Jugo's background reveal from Kabuto's villainous speech.J. Reezy wrote...

Though it's priceless how 50 chapters later Kabuto is still genjutsu'd, while Yamato has been mounted on a wall looking like he's screwing a Hashirama clone for 100+ chapters.

lolz
Why of course, Kishimoto wouldn't have it any other way.J. Reezy wrote wrote...
