So this show is crazy:

I didn't really care to continue watching Gurren Lagann after the first episode but I'm keeping my eyes on this.

So ... does anyone know if SnK/AoT will have a second season and if yes, when?

So alternatively I've downloaded Black Lagoon (first two ep.) and One Piece (till ep.50) too.
Are all seasons of One Piece funny?

I don't care much for One Piece, personal opinion here, but I find the entire manga a tad too childish for my taste. Those "stand up and be strong, don't cry" punchlines are all over the place as far as I watched it (something in the forties, then I quit) and I got bored by that really quick. Is the same humor present throughout the anime? I do think so, but can't verify for obvious reasons.

And I don't think it will stay at two episodes for Black Lagoon ;)

The scope of Diane's geokinesis manipulation with Gideon is crazy.

The first episode of Hajime No Ippo: Rising is out.

Now I actually have a show to watch weekly again, yay. The tearjerker flashback was a bit of a turn-off, but when we got to the actual boxing? OhmanohgodohmanohgodohmanohgodohmanohgodYOOOOOOO!!!

Hmm, estabished series I take it? Care to give a short synopsis? With SnK out of the picture for now, everything is appreciated. I get bored so easily.

Hajime No Ippo is a boxing anime/manga where we see a naive, kindhearted, kinda dumb, but strong high schooler Ippo take up boxing after he's saved from a bunch of bullies by a professional boxer.

Ippo doesn't have much talent at all, but he has the right physique because he's been doing commercial fishing ever since he was little, so he has to work hard to get to rookie levels of boxing technique.

The fights are phenomenal, the training montages are very motivating, and the supporting cast is absurdly funny. He has a bunch of older boxers as his friends, and they're brash, playful and perverted in this rather realistic and suprisingly likeable way. It's like they're a bunch of thugs... well actually they kinda are, but that's beside the point.

This is the *only* sports anime that's ever had me hooked.

This is one of the best moments (as far as fights go) in the series. Feel free to take a look if you're not afraid of having Ippo's current ultimate move spoiled. Not the flashiest showing of the move though, ohohoh, that comes later

Looking at my personal history with it I'd say Gurren Lagann is difficult in that regard. All my friends told me how much they loved it, and after a while agreed to give it a try. After the first episode I said "well, it's probably not for me", but for the sake of my friends I continued watching. Episodes 2-4 didn't do much for me either, and I was really close to quitting, although I was still curious why everyone else was so fond of it. My friends were all like "you have to keep watching just a little longer" and so I did.

Episode 5 I found quite good and intriguing, and for the first time I thought that it might actually turn out to be to my liking after all. Then came episode 6, which I thought was a joke -and a really bad one at that- and I decided to just give up on the show. Yet my friends once again begged me to watch just one episode more, and reluctantly I agreed. I was sure it was wasted time, though, because an anime that hasn't won me over after four episodes usually is.
Well, what can I say - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is on my personal top 5 animes of all time list today. Image IPB

I just couldn't really get interested after watching 6 episodes. I kept flashing back to Prince of Tennis and One Outs for some reason while watching it

Been watching Toonami instead of getting online for anime lately... some bad dubs, but eh. I'm getting lazy.

Geth, I'll go ahead and say that I haven't disliked what I've seen with One Piece. Still not a fan, but it's less painful to watch than Naruto, anyway. Makes me chuckle every now and then.

Other than that... ummm... told you guys about Sankarea... really like that so far... Got Volume 3 of Blood Lad, which I enjoy reading... More Toradora...

I think that's it for me.

I really do want to watch Toonami because I was such a big fan of it before it was cancelled but every time I see Naruto and Filler No One Cares About being shown I just say "forget it". Even classic shows like Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop aren't enough (for me). They need to provide dubs that haven't been on TV dozens of times already. Soul Eater and SAO were nice steps but it needs to continue.

TTGL is easily my favourite anime show ever, thanks to that I've watched NGE first in a very self-destructive way with a friend (take a shot every time somebody is angsting, it took us half a year), because I really didn't like it and FLCL aswell before TTGL, so it really got to me.

Mecha homage-parody and somewhat manages to play it straight at the same time, while going full reverse on the NGE desperation? ****ing brilliant.

Context is sometimes very important. I've heard good things about Kill La Kill so far, I'm looking forward to it.

Don't you find such fanservice/pure T&A a turnoff from an anime? I can't really deal with it myself; just curious.
