@Isi Oh, I am sure. It is praised by everyone here, and I do consider it a must watch, but it will be more enjoyable when I can actually enjoy the experience, instead of forcing myself through it.

Do that, leave everything open for SSY so it get a fair chance to capture your interest completely. It wont run away anytime soon so no rush!

There've been a few challengers over the last year but Saki reigns supreme still. She's of a special kind!

I would also like to be on to say "One of my favorite protagonists ever". Her interactions were normal, the quest for knowledge could only be rivaled by the audience member's, and she knew how to take responsibility when the time came. Overall she was one of the most human protagonists I have seen in anime. I felt for her at the right moments and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I can't think about this anymore for now. I will come back later with more, but right now I am slowly going crazy from lack of sleep and overthought.

That's one of the many reasons why I adore her so much. She's so human and when she acts as a human character it's no matter what done in a great way. She being scared? Done right! She being curious? Done right! Crying? DONE RIGHT!

It's far too rare to have a character that manage to be so human and have the human reactions be done so right.

Depending on how far you got in, I understand your feelings. I watched the first two episodes and then put it off for around 2-3 days because off boredom. But, after going back and actually starting the adventure, you start to have questions that need to be answered. Then you watch more and more, and before you know it, the show is over...

Hopefully it'll happen to me as well whenever I start my third try.

By episode 3 I was really interested, and by episode 7 or 8 it dug its plot and story hooks into my hippocampus.

I will throw in my two cents and say that there is a point I feel in SSY that could be considered dragging a bit but the payoff most certainly does come in the end. Like Cola said though, Chewin, it really does all depend on how far you got in.

As far as Cola's comments from yesterday go, I will have to double check episode numbers but it was either 16 or 18 that left me emotionally dead to the world for a bit

I've mostly been waiting to properly read it until it's fully translated but I have skimmed bits and pieces here and there. I must admit, I really do like the fact that the book (obviously) takes place from Saki's POV. It allows for a bit more time inside her head which is fantastic. Very much looking forward to seeing how that final conversation with a certain someone plays out bookwise because of that.

Meanwhile, finally finished JoJo Part 1. It was good. The trio were rather meh overall for me. I just want Dio back. Hopefully he'll make an entrance soon enough in Part 2.

I had the same thing happen to me when I watched the first 7 or 8 Psycho Pass episodes.

 

I can't recall why but the spoogie boogie stuff and the only girl school stuff really didn't manage to do it for me. But then Shogo came and it was so much better.

 

As for SSY. It's a good anime that's probably somewhere in my top 10. Those last 9 episodes or so were really great.

Meanwhile, I just finnished season 4 of Clone Wars. This season had its ups and downs, tho mostly ups.

 

While I've never been a Darth Maul fanboy, its fun to see him again. The highlight for me this season was the development of Asajj Ventress. Also Anakin's darker side is starting to show more and more.

 

One of the downsides of this season was the introduction of a love interest for Ashoka. We already have Anakin and Padme for that >_> So I'm not looking forward to whenever they show more of that.

Well I just got back into Ga-Rei Zero after about forever. I blame Fate Stay Night. 

 

The anime itself jumps right into it in the first two episodes and then completely calms down for six more. It starts to lull around the fifth episode. I kinda found out why, this is to fill in the backstory of the manga. So it explains the lull though it doesn't excuse it.

 

I can't exactly recommend it, in good conscious. But it has a nice soundtrack.
