Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru is a decent read along with All Rounder Meguru which is geared to a realistic portrayal MMA, and Holyland which is about this bullied kid who learns then becomes addicted to street fighting.

Plus KSKM featured one of the most brutal curbstomps in recent memory too...

Have to say, that looks pretty much awesome.

Okay, when you told me you were watching this, it just kinda glazed over, but seeing that outfit, I feel as though I have to try this.

@Hanar: I never finished the series. Was it as amazing as the first few episodes?

Just noticed this. Yeah, it's easily the most ridiculous of all of the episodes. The funniest too.

Started watching Infinite Stratos. Was watching the sub but then I saw that Monica Rial was in the dub so I had to switch.

Of the two episodes that currently exist, it strikes me as very similar to FLCL in style and execution. Which makes sense since it's by the same director who did Gurren Lagann and FLCL.

I'm trying to catch up on Kenichi and these horrible fanlations (emphasis on horrible) are making it REALLY hard to continue. I feel like dropping it at times. How I loathe not living near a store that sells manga so I can just buy it officially. I'm tired of reading the translations of grammatically retarded individuals.

I've finally gotten around to starting Shingeki no Kyojin and oh man. Ohhhhh. I knew I should have watched this sooner, but it just got lost in the other 8 airing series I was watching at the time. I'm up to episode 9 now and ohmygosh its so morbid and dark but it's perfect and I love it.

Imho there is only two Hayao Miyazaki works for me, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi and Mononoke Hime.

The latter being one of my alltime favourites. Those animations are georgous!

Great choices, for me it's a tie between howl's moving castle and Mononoke.  But I usually watch the english dubsImage IPB.

Interesting you mention the dubs. I'm more or less exclusively a sub guy. I prefer me the original voices, but when I recently got Mononoke Hime in original I remembered I had only seen the german dubbed version from DVD before and it was COMPLETELY different.

In retrospect, I have to say the official German dub is pretty good.

So I'm just dabbling in the world of anime and was recommended Death Note and Code Geass. Nearly finished Death Note and spoiled myself but I can't wait for the ending and how it leads up to it.

I'll start watching Code Geass after because everyone keeps telling me too, but I would prefer something similar to Death Note. I like the idea of a normal guy round my age get super natural abilities or book in this case in the real world.

Just finished shingeki no kyojin, or attack on titan season 1 and damn what a freaking intense anime, but definitely one of the best Ive seen.

A must watch for anyone willing to stomache extremely graphic violence for a great story.

I watched two episodes of Black Lagoon and it looks cool. "I'M OFFICIALLY DEAD, I WANNA BE A PIRATE!"

In my personal opinion, (and I share it with all I personally know), Code Geass sucks. Death Note is brilliant.

So don't at least get your hopes up.

As to other classics - I'd recommend the 1999 version of Hunter X Hunter (starts off slow, but is way greater by the 10th episode than any shonen I've seen - the art is brilliant in the old version too, and the atmosphere is actually dark), then Berserk, then maybe Black Lagoon, than something like Ghost in the Shell (would recommend starting with the 1995 movie, which is the first and most brilliant GitS).

Eventually do watch classics that are a bit more difficult - like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Paranoia Agent and FLCL.

I'd agree with eroeru on Death Note, except for after L. Then it just goes downhill.
