I agree with Logan, the first half of Death Note is brilliant. The second half just... its disappointing. That being said, I watched Code Geass this year and I think I liked it more than DN? I dunno, its been a long time since I watched it, though it takes longer to get going. I actually prefer R2 (season 2) of Code Geass, personally.

The only reason why people are dissapointed with other half of Death Note is because of L. Well im not one of them, the story and quality is still the same. The reason why i like second half more is because it shows how Light is slowly descending into insanity and his downfall.

I don't dislike the second half because I like L. I dislike the second half because I dislike Near, and Mellow, because they were nothing more than copies of L, but more annoying, and because Mikami was an idiot, and screwed up Light's plan he was given specific instructions on how NOT to do that.

I've been watching Blassreiter for the past two days and damn. The xenophobic snobbery prevalent in the upperclass citizens irks the hell out of me. It's more than that though as the actions of the people cross beyond snobbery into this juvenile pack mentality. Get a few buddies together and start messing with the less fortunate foreigners and outsiders. Criminal behavior is okay because they can just throw money at their problems. So far anyone like that has gotten their comeuppance so it balances out. In the form of being brutally murdered later on.

Only one episode, and the dub was good. The Japanese VA is superior though.
The Black guy, the Japanese and the burnt Lady are quite interesting characters. But the main protagonist is so insane that I have more sympathy with the neo-naz'is than her!

The first half of deathnote was really good because it did not feel like a story where good and evil or right and wrong determined who won. The 2nd half feels like it realized this and decided to go back and correct that mistake.

I like the sub as much as the dub. I just know people here hate dubs so I said that. The one series I can say deserves a backhand to the face for being watched dubbed is Steins;Gate. Like seriously, slap yourself if you ever prefer the dub over the sub. Everytime you watch an episode dubbed, slap yourself. A little clip? Slap yourself. Trailer? Slap yourself.

Monster is very good, albeit a tad slow and a bit draggy. Yet thoughtful.
AoT is pretty big, one of the most popular action animes of late. For personal preferences I loathed the first 10 or so episodes, but then it either got to me or just changed for the better. Either way, you'd be better off seeing it, to at least form an opinion.
Actually, given what I know, I think you'd like Titan.
It's less Japanese-specific stuff and much more "Western" if that makes any sense.

Characters in dubs, especially the women don't have any "rough" in their voice. Japanese ones have more nuance in my opinion. Even if every thirtieth word the dubbers say *is* to be "rough" or something.

Dude, Attack on Titan is ****ing dark. The Titans blow the reapers out of the water. The abnormal titans scare the **** out of me, that random titan sprinting out of nowhere like someone on drugs.
The Titans are so unique as monsters, that is some good imagination to come up with something so creepy.
