Not quite sure how I'd structure the story.

 

Periodic chapters (covering an arbitrary number of consecutive pages) is one obvious option, but there's been many pages with little interesting or applicable stuff and many times discussions are intersected with other stuff, then ended and later rekindled.

I thought splitting the thread into several arcs each with overarching threads of discussion and/or user interactions respectively, but again, trying to get a halfway clear cut is pretty hard to do. There's only so many backtracks/rekindled discussions you could treat as flashbacks in other arcs without blurring the line, making it near impossible to just write one or two arcs, post them and then start on a different one.

And a simple recount of the threads posting history with some added artistic freedom would be blasé ...

 

Another option would be to simply scrap the source material to its bleak bones and go full-on artistic freedom, in which case the only guide I could rely on would be character profiles/sheets and toss those into arbitrary situations, but I sincerely doubt I have the literal skill to make that interesting.

 

I'd welcome input, otherwise I'd have to feel pretty motivated to go and try to cram myself through those hardships all alone, which obviously wouldn't be very productive with new or backlogged anime all waiting to be watched instead.

See, this is what Naruto and some other talk no jutsu level shows lack when it's dialogue heavy. When Hisoka was given his fortune and they all suspected him of betrayal.. Whether it was the clever guile of Hisoka or the analytical powers of "Boss".. Damn that was intense to watch..

Another avenue of approach would be to just select the current regulars, follow the ongoing discussions in form of a slice-of-life'esque story telling and then make up flashbacks inspired by previous hot discussions in here.

So far that appears to be the most practical/manageable solution. Would also mean I won't have to work through the entire topic from page one on and can somewhat rely on my daily interaction. Research would be limited to whenever I feel like arc backtracking (for example the PMMM craze told in a flashback form).

 

In that case, I'd ask someone to make a thorough character sheet/profile for me. I believe I'm halfway capable enough that I can write up characters based on the regular users with enough similarities to make them convincing and recognizeable, but I won't be trying to write myself and inevitably fall into the traps of author-avatar. As a writer, I'd prefer being a distant third party.

Plus, having to write myself under the limitation of you guys' perception of mine might be enjoyable enough to keep my interested in this project.
