If anything, the guy jumping around like Yoda in the prequel episode #2 is a more glaring thing to take offense to if you're deadset on realism because there we've got all the context needed to judge.

Eh, the anime adaption can go rot in a hole. The series' biggest focal points are the characters and their interactions with the unfamiliar. And since the adaption is utterly uncaring towards showing the characters properly (because oh noez, violence, rape, we can't have that, let's cut all that out, so what if it's an important setpiece for character establishment), the action alone isn't sufficient to warrant watching it just for a modern military lolstomping medieval armies and dragons ...

 

So much potential, readily thrown in the trash. Not even an attempt to slightly alter the situation to try and preserve the overall meaning of a situation, just plain cut it out.

!!!!!! Happy birthday Nasu-sensei! Awww, I hope the day will go good for you, and someday I'll stop being a shitty kohai and work on stuff proper so we can ramble about it. You know my hitching point with FZ so I have to try my best to get to season 2 to see the jump in quality. But I have Wednesday off so I should really try to get to KnK5 and roll my face along the keyboard with everyone else.

 

Oh and on Nepu, I got burned out trying to level grind for Black Heart. I'll get back to it for sure.

 

ETA: For clarification, FZ isn't bad, I'm just an SN elitist and it has yet to really hook me 7 episodes into the first season. There's stuff that made me grumble hard in the first episode alone (glossing over stuff that was a big deal in the VN. I mean I get that it was probably made with readers in mind but I can't shrug off feeling like anime only folks won't get the bigger impact of certain things cause they're just like "lol, this thing, kbye.")

 

I mean, at the end of the day I'm not sure anything done in the universe will ever get close to matching how amazing the cast of SN turned out to be, both master and servant alike for me, but considering as of now, the only new character I care about being Waver complicates things. Not to mention with reading the LN alongside watching, I can get frustrated on the things they left out by once again having monologue phobia.

 

Okay, I'm done bitching. Liam, don't take my blarging to heart, you might enjoy it far more since I'm probably one of the only one here that rants about the series.
