Does this one hit its target?

Are you watching Shimoneta or Gakkou Gurashi? Watch those, they're awesome. I'm also watching Gate, and I'm enjoying it so far, but idk, I'm enjoying it more or less the same way I enjoyed the first arc of SAO, and this worries me.

Greed Island IMO is more fun than say the early hunter exam phase. Except for when they were in the Swamp, it was actually pretty funny..

 

But episode 68's Cliche Town is amazing, I I want to rewatch it every time.. hah!

I raised them as I went so yeah, by the time I finished all endings and got to Holy Sword, everyone was at lilly rank 8, so I just had to worry about share manipulation. Still alot of grinding. I wish devs would do true ending like Persona 4/Golden.

BudadaDADUM DUH DUH DUH DUMM!...

 

I don't really know what I think of this series so far, I mean watching the military murder dragons entertaining, sure, but this show is going to go on for another 18 episodes, and I'm sure the novelty will wear off before then. So far, I haven't found any of the characters to be particularly interesting, and the SDF has just been portrayed as so obnoxiously heroic so far. I mean, black and white morality can make for a pretty entertaining war story if not a deep one, it worked pretty well for James Cameron's Avatar and Star Wars, but there's something that goes beyond the black and white morality that I find troubling about the SDF's portrayal, the way they do no harm to the civilian population and win hearts and minds at the drop of the hat, this "new world" is quickly starting to feel like wish fulfillment pandering to the likes of George W Bush and the Project For a New American Century. Why don't they just have the people of Italica tear down a statue of the Emperor while they're at it?

 

Anyway, so far most of my enjoyment show has come from the humor derived from the absurdity of the premise, but unless they start to develop the characters soon or drastically improve the story, this show is going to get boring fast.
