Shimoneta doesn't interest me. Neither does Gakkou, but apparently appearances are deceiving with that one, so might check it out to see what the fuzz is about. But not really high on my priority list.

 

Regarding Gate, Fidite has stated that one should experience the manga instead, since the anime apparently is bad adaptation wise (and I take it weak as well on its own, in so far). So yeah, not really concerned with it.

 

I'm also watching Gakkou so if you can wait until it's over I'll be able to give you the usual post that I do about the shows that I watch. So far it's been good but like most shows this season it's not "there" and need to achieve more than it does right now

 

Or get your bum on steam and I can tell ya the stuff now

Bomber is a terrible antagonist.. I'm so looking forward to the next arc..

 

Setting the bar so low that I'm hyped as **** for antman arc.

He is a uhh... subversion/deconstruction of that archetype?

He's supposed to be designed after Cell and is also "the perfect being."

 

The Ant Arc is basically Togashi's take at a typical Battle Shounen story.

 

But of course.

 

It's not typical.

 

Because it's Togashi.

 

Take for example, the Yorknew Arc.

 

Awesome right? Well any one else would have had a big show down with the gang and the Phantom Troupe blah blah blah the good guys win and all is well in the world.

 

The same thing with the Ant Arc. It's a Battle Shounen story... but it's not!

Ok watched Gakkou. I liked that little twist in the end, and overall it is a rather cool concept to be done to such an overused setting. 'Moe elements' is generally something that I personally find to be a turn off, but it fits nicely with the show in question to give a vivid portrayal on two very different scenarios. I am curios how the show develops from this point forward and what its main focuse lies in--other than simply your typical themes that you find in settings like these, exploring the protagonist's personality disorder could prove interesting--so might as well continue with it.

Though I'll save it until later 'cause I want to get Gangsta under way.

If you liked Frieza, then you'll love King.

Very different characters or course that defines them, but I'm sure you'll appreciate King for what he is, since he is a terrific character.

The Ant Arc is slow.

 

Very slow.

 

It might be too slow for some people.

 

BUT FIGHT THROUGH.

 

The pay off is one of the best arcs you'll get to experience in anime, and if I'm bold, in any medium ever.

 

But then again.

 

I'm a huge fanboy when it comes to the Ant Arc.

 

Take Chewin's word before mine.

 

But it's still slow tho'
