Just finished Puella Magi madoka magica on a friends suggestion and it was not at all what I expected from a magical girl series. This series is far more darker then the pictures of girls in pink frilly outfits initially suggests. Between watching little girls get decapitated and main characters end up in fates worse then death its probably a good thing it was shorter, as I found it to be pretty emotionally draining.

caught up in Kill La Kill. Kind of reminds me of Ranma 1/2 except even more over the top and ridiculous. If you attempted to describe its plot to someone who did not watch anime they would probably think you were crazy.

I can only speak for myself but I think its hilariously awesome. I like how some aspects of the plot it takes very seriously and then others it goes completely off the rails. It also has a lot of very likeable characters.
Gotta laugh at just how many anime genres they are trying to fit into this series.

The first few episodes of this series weren't exactly great, but for the last ones it seems this series can potentially stand on same level as Toradora. Just a bit more comedy and we're golden. Pun intended

Watched through the entire Broken Blade movie series and I have to say a very, very nice anime. Very mature themes, the fights are awesome but the characters are where it's at.
Also, it's a mecha anime, so win-win.
Will start reading the manga next, as the movies cut short and supply their own ending (which is a bit of a shame, but not a bad ending (good thing I watched the anime first, so I'm not biased by reading the manga).
