*nervous laughter*

Well the thread was being saturated with silly stuff.

Only Hisoka could save it then.

Plus teasing Rex with sexy men is a great pass time.

*nervous laughter*

Once you watch HxH all of those will be Neferpitou

Mmmm..

Well the thread did have a lot of stupid consuming everything for a while there. Chessus.. so much of it

Maybe it's cool with Hisoka trying to save the world. Again.

That would leave fans with a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge cliffhanger though. I suppose it's only natural if they are looking at the reception and only give the green light for more seasons if the anime is doing well, but from a fan's perspective, ending the anime with the end of volume 1 is like luring a toddler with a big lollipop before suddenly yanking it away and throwing it in the trash.

I mean, sure, everyone can still read the LN, but then what was the point in the anime adaption in the first place (aside from trying to make money with advertisment and DVD/Blurays) ?

I'm just saying.

I've seen the pre order numbers for the anime and they're really not that good.

It's called Jade Empire, my first time through.

My character dreams of being One Punch Man

Screw the pre-order numbers. Has the industry learned nothing after Spice&Wolf and Oda Nobuna no Yabou?

Did you even listen to the vid? Or are you too young to understand the glory that is the musical floppy drive?

Tbh it's the shows own fault for it's **** advertising. At a quick glance it looks like a unremarkable fantasy show.

Well Spice and Wolf (both S1 and S2) still had good sales so that one deserves a S3.

Selling itself as some generic fantasy is at least not the way to go to capture my interest. Now I do have my ears open about it but that would never have happened if not for the thread

Pretty much this. The only reason i'm watching it is due to Fidite and Angel saying it's good. I had 0 interest until they mentioned it.

Well that is also true though I still hold that it's in issue with media in general over Japan.

Eh, not every show has a huge budget for marketing itself. Way too many good anime get overlooked because mediocre run-of-the-mill shows just drown people in advertisement so you won't find the hidden gems unless you specifically look for them. It's not like it's trying to sell itself as some standard fantasy show, the synopsis on MAL for example makes it pretty clear there's more to it.

You started watching it yet?

I don't really know since I'm not really into anything Japan besides anime but since we're talking about Japan's taste this is as good as time as any to post this

Sword Art Online 2012 Summer 36,132 ¥2,395.8

Sword Art Online II 2014 Summer 20,179 ¥1,041.8

Shinsekai Yori 2012 Fall 606 ¥38.7

Plebs be plebs, no matter which nationality.

The fact alone that people in this thread usually keep an active eye on the under-the-radar shows and are vocal about those when they turn out good is something everyone in here should appreciate to no bounds.

To be fair it's an issue with most media. They make the most generic PoS marketing campaign and market it out to everyone without paying enough attention to grabbing their core target audience who they leave tossing in the wind and when they don't reach their projected sales target they wonder why the failed. Its because the media's target audience thought that specific piece of media was horrible based off the trailer and then Mr and Mrs Generic watch it and find that they really don't like it because it's not to their taste.

I swear I enjoy marketing a bit too much.

That's the sort of stuff that makes me wonder... HOW the hell does that sell so well!? I mean I can't even fathom any discernible reason.

Dear god me. Drunk sentences much?

Personally, I'm a total sucker for the cover art:

Spoiler

But if its artstyle isn't to your taste, can't be helped then. :crying:

No that cover art is great. Goddamn gorgeous even. Why the **** didn't they use something like that instead of the generic stuff they used for the anime!?

*snip*

Beats me, either the marketing team are plebs with little taste, or they seriously try to market it to the broad masses and think the artstyle might scare the common anime viewer away because it looks too different.

Let's not forget, the vast majority of people don't look for new stuff. They look for the same old, familiar stuff they know they enjoy instead of taking the risk of going someplace new and possibly end up disappointed.

Same reason why Hollywood productions are by far and wide just rehashes of the same story over and over again, only masked with different visuals.

I get that but the Japan anime fanbase tends to have it very bad at times.

And I know that it's a LN but I'm still very buthurt at the Hakomari sales.
