Worse is how it was ignored at the academy award for best animation and how the judges were like

 

"Loldidn'twatchit, doesn't look like something we'd watch. Frozen wins!"

 

(Don't get me wrong, not bashing Frozen. That was a good movie but it can't hold a candle to TRS in my books)

 

I didn't fully understand the significance of that at the time. I mean, I've always known these shows are governed largely be a complete bunch of hacks, but that's a new low. How can you possibly retain any semblance of integrity as a critic with that attitude? Chances are when bearing any outlook even close to that, they clearly wouldn't have given it any credit, even if they had watched it. But still... Truly pathetic.

 

 

And yeah. You certainly know how much I enjoyed Frozen what with the amount I posted in that thread. And if I take a look at the components as to why I enjoyed it, they're the very same that I said here for TRS: the visuals, its musical score, a brilliant cast of compelling characters and deep, thought provoking plot points. TRS does them all and more. And all of them better. So being absolutely honest, I can only agree with you.

I can't see it being more faithful, since the classic is already very faithful and any changes made where for the better. (Dusty, some characters given tighter focus ect) It also had 110 episodes and a bunch of movies/ova series that expleroed stuff that could not fit into it. I highly doubt this new adaption will even have close to the numbers.

 

I'm not expecting it to be as awesome as the classic, but I hope it's good for both the new generation and vets and I hope whoever they get to do Yang can do it, because out of everyone, that potion WILL have alot of fire.

 

If they turn Julian into a loli and she calls Yang onii-chan tho, I'm quitting anime.

After story was fantastic.

 

Angel Beats had emotional moments almost as large as the plot holes.

Can you spoil which ones specifically to look for? I love deconstructing some of my favorite animes for the plot holes.

It's nice to see you understand X3 It really is. Because really don't get me wrong, Frozen is a good movie and I wouldn't be upset normally that it won the award. It's the lack of recognition TRS got that bothers me despite how well it was done. It truly is one of the most thought provoking movies I've seen as you no doubt can tell from all my book posts on the series

He's a much needed character and does a lot to make the 13th Fleet... you know... not just Yang's.

In fact from the entire cast I'd say Julian is my least favourite seeing as he's so damn perfect.

I heard Gundam Unicorn was a nominee or something like that.

 

How could something, like Frozen, win over Gundam Unicorn  or PMMM, both with fantastic art styles. I don't care if you like, love or hate it, but the animation was drop dead gorgeous for Unicorn. Watching it in HD is mouth watering.  

 

Unicorn for it's animation or PMMM for it's art style. There was nothing mouth watering or unique about Frozen's art style, based off what I've seen. It looked like every other Disney (Well not every one of them) movie out there.  PMMM actually had it's own, unique feel. Unicorn had the best animation I've ever seen so far.

Kirito is a self insert protag, so he's a hit with otakus right of the bat, where otakus would hate Shirou and the JoJo's with a burning passion.

 

Of course at least with manga it's different since joJo gets the praise it deserves there.

Gary Sue or something like that. Sure, Kirito may make even MLG pros look like trash but its jump in the game, beat everything, pick up Asuna and repeat. Kirito while stylish and all, is too perfect. 

 

SAO was entertaining... but it isn't going to win any awards from me. (I still have to see about Sinon though).
