Kirito is a self insert protag, so he's a hit with otakus right of the bat, where otakus would hate Shirou with a burning passion.

They kinda force you too.

This would be nicer if she didn't keep calling me Kirito-Kun.

...Even though I don't look anything like him.

tfw  :crying:

Of course at least with manga it's different since joJo gets the praise it deserves there.

It just frustrates me that this is what sells man :/ It's like confirming that people suck.

It's nice to see you understand X3 It really is. Because really don't get me wrong, Frozen is a good movie and I wouldn't be upset normally that it won the award. It's the lack of recognition TRS got that bothers me despite how well it was done. It truly is one of the most thought provoking movies I've seen as you no doubt can tell from all my book posts on the series :P

It's funny. Some of the best things come from over there but get appreciated more over here..

Yup. I'm still mulling it over about a week on. Thats a record for me, so thought provoking's quite the understatement.   Especially when I'm also going through plenty of other quality stuff.

I heard Gundam Unicorn was a nominee or something like that.

How could something, like Frozen, win over Gundam Unicorn  or PMMM, both with fantastic art styles. I don't care if you like, love or hate it, but the animation was drop dead gorgeous for Unicorn. Watching it in HD is mouth watering.

Unicorn for it's animation or PMMM for it's art style. There was nothing mouth watering or unique about Frozen's art style, based off what I've seen. It looked like every other Disney (Well not every one of them) movie out there.  PMMM actually had it's own, unique feel. Unicorn had the best animation I've ever seen so far.

Strongly disagree there. Some of the snow vistas in Frozen were absolutely stunning, and the work they did with lighting and ice is unlike anything I've seen before or since. I'd dig up examples, but I need sleep.

It's no PMMM. But still.

And we all know how they didn't win. The powers that be at these things aren't going to sully themselves even watching childish mecha or magical girl films.

This is why there is a valid fear that LotGH might see lolis or cutesy crap added to appeal to otakus or the newer generation which will ****** off alot of people but would sadly sell well.

True Frozen looked good, if only the same could be sad about it's writing and characters.

SAO was better received and sells better then S/N and JoJo.

I have no regrets making fun of Japanese anime tastes.

You only have to look at how well Avatar: The Last Airbender has done in Japan to see who the real baka gaijin are tbh.

Well to be fair there's more to the choice then art style/animation...

Heh, aye, though I'd maybe disagree on the characters, but only because its a Disney film and they're all in the style I'd expectc from one.

The less said about the writing the better. No contest with TRS.

Anyway off to bed.

Even though it's satire.

It's probably going to happen like this

*Unsure whether to make a joke or feel depressed that it would probably sell better if it were true*

Elsa was great, Anna alright.

I still stand my grounds that Olaf should be tossed in a volcano >.>

I'm a terrible person though so don't mind me..

That's a bad thing that it tanked over there? I didn't much care for it.

Seemed a lot better too than Korra.

Of the Gundam one?

I've never seen it. Not particularly interested unless it gets recommended to me *from people who have tastes I trust*

I wish studios would just stop with crap like minions and Olaf. What happen to great "animal" side kicks like Iago who had so much charm.

As a big fan of the series, it just proves my point of why I won't trust Japanese to determine what quality is for anime.

Yes, Gundam Unicorn, I've only seen an hour of this program so far, but so far the main character has shown several irritating stalker traits.

I like The Hans a lot for going all meta and fooling the audience.

He's no Jafar or anything obviously, but other villains don't even pretend for a minute that they're not arseholes. I enjoyed being strung along the whole time like that and watching them mess with old tropes.

And I totally get not liking Olaf. Shrieking comic relief characters aren't going to work out for everyone.

Though I have to ask given the comparison, whats your opinion on Bebe?  :P As Bebe. And not anything else.

And David Moo, he's a pretty cool guy.
