Oh. Then I apologize.

And yeah, PMMM is something children cannot fully comprehend. Heck, I'd have to watch it another time or two before I could reach more of an understanding about it.

Depends on the child. There's some smart cookies out there.

Son of a....

Yeah Oscars are films only. I don't think they're going to focus on Anime OVAs without theatrical release.

Ugh....

Even if it has amazing art style or animation they'll take it over a master piece that is PMMM and UC Unicorn...

So depressing...

Again, we've already established UC Unicorn isn't even illegible anyways ;)

Also correct me if I'm wrong but you didn't even see Frozen did you?

In regards to Frozen vs PMMM. Frozen's like modern pop music it does nothing special any themes it talks about has been done over and over again while PMMM takes a fresher take on that same theme (along with many others)

Theme spoilers below.

Yes and no on that last part.

It's not so much that it is selfish and dangerous but moreso that it has the potential to be.

In regards of Frozen and Madoka I've already said all that's needed to be said long ago.

But I seem to have deleted that post. That's odd.

Ah don't worry, you've got me all wrong there. When I say childish, I mean from the perspective of a media has-been running these award shows, trying to convince themselves that most films out of Japan that aren't a 'Ghibli' have no place at their 'prestigious' award shows.

You think I'd call PMMM childish after seeing it?  :P Its got a 15 rating over here in the UK, and with bloody good reason.

Well, what do you expect? The people who run the Oscars aren't professional critics, they're celebrities. Filmmakers have to spend millions lobbying the judges to get them to even watch their movies for a shot at winning, perhaps Shaft figured out that the whole thing is a scam and didn't bother promoting PMMM?

Hades is the reason why Hercules is one of my favorites.

And the fact James Woods reprises the role in Kingdom Hearts makes it even better.

I still want a sequel about Hades and Persephone. I think that would be fantastic.

Ah, mine too. I can't possibly remember how many times I must have watched Hercules and Aladdin as a kid.

And damn, don't remind me that I need to get into Kingdom Hearts on top of everything else on the backlog.

Hans I liked up until the reveal. After that the story just kind of went as far as they could with him.

Bebe is alright. I like her derpy faces and such although tbh I think she was mostly added in for Mamis sake. Doesn't particularly play a large role on the story one way or another imo but still a fun enough character. There's a scene/manga panel of hers that makes me laugh quite a bit but I can't find it offhand because my usual TRS manga site is down.

Still I respect and share her love for cheese! :D

I saw Bebe more to enhance Mami as a character because my one issue with Mami in outside Rebellion was I felt she was too much of a plot device, where Rebellion fixed this by giving her good character and moments, and Bebe just helped.

Aye, thats about my opinion. I think I like her a little more as I only realised she spoke words after finishing TRS thanks to that dodgy dub (which I'm starting to think maybe just doesn't have BeBe dubbed at all, will find out on the blu-ray). And of course she's brilliant for Mami.

And when considering her in regards to her other forms, giving MoeMoe a second chance is just heart warming. (Some of the fan theories for how she became a witch are depressingly cruel). :(

You're right. I've only seen the trailers and was forced to watch bits and pieces of it... I really have no interest in Frozen nor have I watched it completely and I've been forced to listen to that song from it google translated several times because an ex of mine enjoyed forcing me to watch her things and like them regardless if I wanted to or not.

I do not like Disney. At all. But if people like Disney, it's their business.

Same here. Lot of Mulan and Lilo and Stitch too.

Not enough Black Cauldron though. My sister was scared of it.

The .5 HD Collections are out and ready for you whenever you're good to go.

I highly recommend them.

Lets be honest, a non Disney film, let alone a Japanese animation movie is hardly going to be recognized at the Oscars and anything similar. Even tho Rebellion should HAVE won, it won't because it's not Disney. that's simply the mindset we live in sadly.

Which is a bit of a shame. Because right now Dreamworks is at their peak.

Whereas Frozen and Big Hero 6 and Pixars recent stuff could've been better (I liked Wreck it Ralph though, that movie was ok)

<3 Mulan. Black Cauldron too. That I haven't watched in years though, which I may have to do so again. All I ever see these days is people saying its naff.

Crap though, I don't think I've ever actually seen Lilo and Stitch... copious amounts of the TV series back in the day, but never the film... that's terriblle. Gonna have to sort that out.

And I'd have to pick up a PS3. Which I should. No reason not to at this point.

I feel people who don't like rebellion just didn't understand Homura at all. I was not surprised at all with what happens in the ending, it was clear something was going to happen in my eyes.

The whole "real Homura would not do that!" is my fav argument.

Lilo and Stitch is great.

Takes alot of influence from Studio Ghibli.

Forgot there was a TV show though. But that was early to mid 2000s. Everyone was super into Kim Possible then.

Which of Disneys films have you seen in the past J/C?

I cannot remember exactly, with the exception of Narnia and My little mermaid (I think it's Disney) and that Micky Mouse stuff, along with that one with the beast dude and the one with the black haired chick in the dress. It's all fizzy in my head and is part of a past life that I've left behind. Also, isn't Tarzan Disney as well? Not sure.

I didn't like what I was exposed to though... that's just me. Even when I was little I didn't like things that those my age liked.

All because I was spoiled by Halo and such. I'd use to play grown up (Because back then it was my dream to be one for many, many reasons) and believe that anything not Halo or violent was for little kids (Even when I was one, lol), Disney fell under that category of being something I've hated. But with age I've chilled out on it, along with several other things.

That argument was why I wrote the thing in the first place.

Whenever somebody uses "Real" in an argument when it's not applicable pisses me off, and always has.

Rebellion kinda filled out what I felt was missing from Homura's character development.

There was a Tarzan film by Disney, but they don't own the rights.

Despite Disney owning pretty much everything else. They don't own Tarzan, or the 1939 Wizard of Oz film.

They really want that latter thing though. But MGM's like "No. Screw you"

Also the Marvel Film rights Fox has right now.

And poorly using.

Aside from X-Men.

Don't lose your Lays... Clone you terrible, terrible person... :P

I'm going to give these a good read in the morning. But for now I really need sleep.

Good talk though, people. PMMM, Disney and Oscar bashing. What more could you want?

The Homura OOC complaints boggle my mind

@Impulse

Watch the Lion King. It's amazing. It's mature, emotional and a classic. It references Shakespearing themes ffs.

And yeah, Mulan is pretty based too.

Didn't mind The Little Mermaid but I have a strong biased to Hans Christians version which is *far* more tragic
