I heard Gundam Unicorn was a nominee or something like that.

 

How could something, like Frozen, win over Gundam Unicorn  or PMMM, both with fantastic art styles. I don't care if you like, love or hate it, but the animation was drop dead gorgeous for Unicorn. Watching it in HD is mouth watering.  

 

Unicorn for it's animation or PMMM for it's art style. There was nothing mouth watering or unique about Frozen's art style, based off what I've seen. It looked like every other Disney (Well not every one of them) movie out there.  PMMM actually had it's own, unique feel. Unicorn had the best animation I've ever seen so far. 

 

 

Why do robot/mecha designers like to add tons of useless moving/glowy bits?

Back on topic. I watched the latest dragonball S episode. The 5 one ? When Goku goes SSJ and fight beeru. WTH was that lol. That SSJ GOKU ? He was much stronger than this when he fought VEGETA in Kaioken Mode. The animation and the drawing. Awful . Atroce. Oh my god. It's like those people don't know how to do anime anymore.

 

Gonna watch it in 12 hours to say if it's bad or not.

Well, the animation wasn't anything special since the original series and DBZ and they only improved it a bit in DBS. In episode 1-4 in just a few scenes it felt ugly and rushed, but as a whole it's OK.

When I think of the LOTGH remake I imagine it will look a bit like the battleship yamato remake artstyle wise.

Nah, I've seen a lot better average shows than Tytania.
