Not too bad. The wait for the second season will be much worse.

Implying this won't turn into Gurren Lagann Jr. and have this season ending with them using the actual stars for a 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 star uniform to defeat the universe tier antagonist, therefore concluding the story in a way that couldn't reasonably allow for future conflict.

True. And overall I like how the last arc ended and set up for the next half of the season with the post credits scene.

Let me give you two useful pieces of information

I just finished episode 5 of kill la kill.

I am going to watch episode 6 of kill la kill.

Just binge watch it. from where you are it gets good, and then it gets really good.

^ Yeah, once you start getting the back stories for the 4 Devas it gets pretty great.

The one real problem I have with the series though is how it injects its comedic elements into the more serious parts. I can see the effect they're going for, but it's a little jarring and makes it feel like they're afraid to get too serious.

Iono it seems like everything in this show has a comedic element to it so I doubt that will change.

True. I just find it has a way of diminishing some of the powerful scenes. Like in the most recent episode.

When Ryuuko went berserk and Mako brought her back. It was really funny how she repeatedly slapped the "bleghs" out of her like a mankanchine gun, but I feel like the scene could have been more poignant if it were taken a tiny bit more seriously.

Like I hate comparing it to TTGL since I'm sure the people at trigger don't want that to be all they're remembered for, but it was comedic up until that one part, and when the serious moments happened, they were allowed to be more tonally disparaging. Then again, I doubt we've seen all of what Kill la Kill will offer by way of feels, so we'll see.
