Not gonna write too much since I'll just be branding my self the moron badge next to the idiot badge which is right next to the worst badge.

 

But anyway.

 

Based solely on the writing it's near damn flawless. Thematically consistent, a clever web of puzzles and mystery each with their answers all of which are tied neatly. The use of gaming mechanics to tell a story really shows that they know the strength of their medium and that twist wasn't littered with holes as you'd think. The conclusion wraps up what needs to be wrapped but I think it suffers from a few ambiguities such as Seven's memory (which was apparently implanted) and the case surrounding whether Akane was alive or not 9 years ago.

 

I've looked at the official Q&A and he seems to respond with a "yes but no but" answer.

 

So yeah.

 

Now personally I was loving it until the big reveal. All the marks were getting scored 10/10 down to the tiniest detail. However I can't say the main theme resonates well with me, as in, I don't care much about what it's trying to tell me. I'm not so fond of timelines (mostly because they just confuse the sh*t out of me) so when that was a major aspect of the reveal of course I'd be let down, I was hoping something more along the lines of Ace being called out or hell, just any good Poirot film ever.

 

Seriously, watch Appointment with Death, Death on the Nile and Five Little Pigs.

 

Zero is an interesting character but I can't love her since I didn't get to know her. My favourite antagonists are people like King, Loghain, Haytham, Robert of Artois and Letho are characters I've gotten to know and see from lots of angles. What I saw of Zero was Akane, and despite her meticulous planning and awesome schemes I never got to see her other side.

 

 

So I guess it comes down to what she did was cool, but I didn't really get to see how cool she is as a person.

 

Anyway.

 

It's mostly my preference when it comes to the ending and not an actual problem with the writing itself. I still loved the game and I'm gonna go ahead and ask Isi where I can get VLR.

 

I'll buy the games to support the franchise but right now I don't have access to either console and I'm going to University in two weeks so I won't have the luxury.

 

I'll recommend 999 to anyone with a head on their shoulders and I'll caution them that if they expect a Poirot ending they are not going to be happy.

 

I still say this game trumps And Then there were None in almost every way tho'

It was decent. I admit I didn't guess who dun it until the reveal.
