Well I finished **** ton of anime, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Evangelion both TV series and movies , Gundam 00, Wing, Seed series are my favorite.

From the Anime/Manga God I mentioned his work (Astro Boy) above I've watched 'Kimba the White Lion' in my late childhood. It was good.
The funny thing is Disney stole Kimba's character, called it Simba and made the Lion King!

I don't find it to be particulary emotionally taxing. I actually think the show is pretty funny, and I think the main character is pretty cool too. It's starting to set itself up as a cliche SoL harem (in my eyes), but that is fine as long as it's done well.

I watched the original series back when it was originally released, still need to watch the the newer stuff released in the last few years... speaking of which can anyone in this thread tell me what I need to watch in all for that? So far I have only seen the original TV series and End of Evangelion.

Season 1 of Clannad = Okay.
I really liked the characters, and the art was great. This is one of the funnier shows I've watched in a while. It did go rather predictably, but hey, it's a romance anime. That is just sort of expected. Season one stands pretty well on it's own, though it has me interested enough to watch season 2. There are still a few things up the air that I'm at least interested in seeing what happens.
The feels of season 1 were pretty standard fare for this genre of anime. I have found the humor keeps me in this show much more than thehumor drama. Time to figure out if season 2 holds up to it's big reputation.

Nor was the humor nor the music in any Key anime.
Tho from the narrative perspective the original Clannad does seem pretty much straightforward harem.
Yet as a build-up for the second, it can work as a simple narrative.

As a way to build a foundation for a show, I'd definitely say the first season is good. There isn't a character that doesn't feel unnecessary, and they all have potential for significance later on. Plus, you know, episode 22 pretty much sets up the main focus of the next season's plot.
I did like the alternate ending idea of episode 24. Would this series happen to be based off of a VN or something?
(and you're right, the animation and sound are top notch. Both were pretty big pluses in my eyes.)

Well the newer stuff for Evangelion are only movies which have really good animation, and they "kind" of re-cap the TV series; but not exactly, after the second movie the story takes different route in the third movie, hell I wonder when the fourth movies comes out.

Clannad and Clannad After Story were okay. I wasn't really a Nagisa fan, so actually I liked the Tomoyo and the Kyou chapter a lot more.
