I just finished CAS. What in the great mind****ery?!

So I take it I really should stick it out for the long haul.

Yeah, you should. Really, it's quite a beautiful show when it comes down to it. The ending might confuse you as it has some elements from the Visual Novel that aren't fully explained in the show, but luckily there are a lot of sites out there where fans of the VN are willing to fill in the blanks for you. At the end of the day, this is probably one of the greatest coming of age stories I have ever watched. Really, the majority of the show serves two purposes: to make you understand/care about the characters, and it serves a purpose that you can really only understand after finishing the series. Every part of this series is important, and it's amazing to think of what Tomoya did in it's entirety by the end.

For my rambling to make sense, you need to watch the show for yourself. I found that the last half of after-story can really grab you if you can relate to the story. Really, it takes you on a rollercoaster ride, and it will stomp on your feelings.

Some thoughts on anime I've recently watched (no spoilers):

Kyoukai no Kanata: Just awful. Why I kept watching beyond that episode is beyond me, maybe I was hoping it would focus on the drama which, unlike the lame comedy, actually had potential. But nope, glasses and sister fetish jokes up until the very end <_<

Fate/Zero: Absolutely loved it! I had a bad impression of Gen Urobuchi after the trainwreck that was Gargantia but it looks like I was wrong... especially since it seems he only wrote the first and last episodes for that one. Both this and Madoka have blown me away. Psycho Pass is definitely high on my list now and I can't wait to see more from him in the future.

Steins Gate Movie: Pretty indifferent about this one. It's cleverly written but that doesn't necesarily translate into something that's satisfying to watch. That being said, if you liked the original Steins;Gate series without a doubt you'll like this as well. I was hoping that Kurisu might have grown beyond being "typical tsundere character" with the focus of the movie being on her but looks like it wasn't meant to be.

Karneval: One of my guilty pleasures. I'll admit it's not a masterpiece, but it's nowhere near as shallow as it appears. It has it's darker moments (especially in the manga) but overall it's a light-hearted series that has a lot to say about friendship, family and having somewhere to call home.

It definitely seems to have style. I think I have to watch the anime to find out about the substance.

Yay for completing After Story.

That is all I'll say.

I definitely don't regret sticking with it. ^_^

Though I think the next anime I watch needs to be a lighter experience. I think watching NGE might destroy my soul right now. Maybe I'll read Bakuman.

Crunchyroll has a ton of those short 13 ep animes I need to see, so I think I'm good.

I prefer the shorter ones most of the time if they are well done. Less likely to get filler.

I have plenty I *want* to see, but I just feel like watching something light hearted or funny right now. Or just maybe something that's non-tragic.

And yeah, I've always felt that shorter series are done more concisely than longer ones. They kind of have to be.

I'm considering starting Fate/Zero despite hating Fate/Stay Night.

Anyone want to recommend it to me? Otherwise I'm probably going to start GITS or Psycho-Pass.

^Samuel Jackson's a good pick for Akai's role (Twisted) but i'm not so sure how closely the LA version will follow after the original.

Start GITS! I suggest the 1995 movie as an initiation. A great work as far as I'm concerned. The original. I at least didn't like SAC (the series after the movie) as much. Wasn't enough of that 90's rough authenticity in it, and SAC *is* more simplistic.
;)

Decided to start reading the AoT manga where the anime left off, because F* it I'm gonna get the whole series spoiled anyway if I don't. Seems like they kinda messed up Eren's character development in the last episode, I dunno. Made it more dramatic, I guess.

And they used Jean in this Keiji guy's place, who I don't know who that is. Speaking of which, who is that?
