Do Studio Ghibli titles count under that style? An' what about Cowboy Bebop (tho I must say, I haven't been a huge fan of Bebop myself).

Better get on that. Ive always considered Cowboy Bebop one of those ones you have to eventually watch at least once if your an anime fan, right up there with Evangelion.

Edit: Just watched the new Kill La Kill. Did not see the ending coming. Its an interesting twist but it reminds me a bit too much of something Bleach would do.

There's this snazzy anime about a japanese AEGIS-class destroyer going back in time...to WW2.

Similar to that US movie with an aircraft carrier. Except in that move, the carrier didn't alter the past and got back. Here...there is no going back.

Zhipang.

It's interesting, but the anime does fall short of anything resembling completion when compared to the manga.

Hmm I was looking at this series recently, thinking it may be next on my watch list.

Really like the animation style.

I'm only past the first episode, but I like it's premise.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of it. I'll keep watching to see what they do with it. I can see a few angles they can approach it from, so it's not horrible.

For KlK I am not a fan of the whole [spoiler] "hero loses his/her powers and has to regain them well becoming stronger" arcs [spoiler] but that said at least it feels like the writers are actually trying to keep the story fresh, which I respect and for the most part I would say they hit the mark. Also I really like the villains (Satsuki, Nui, Ragyo) they are all so over the top and awesome, I look forward to seeing what Ragyo is capable of.

/// spoiler alert for those who haven't watched yet. ///

Yeah, her losing her last article of clothing suddenly makes the nudist group pretty relevant. It should be an interesting fight.

Eh...I have a hard time categorizing Satsuki as a villain right now. Antagonist, sure. Villain, I don't know about that.

I have a hard time categorizing Satsuki as anything other then a complete freaking badass, tbh.

Slightly-related: I'm still not sure what the point of Mari was in the reboot aside from giving new characters for the internet to draw naked.

I went with some friends and it was an enjoyable night.

The highlight of the evening was the film glitching out so we got to see a certain someone's rather messy demise twice.

Anybody watch Noragami? Has an alright first episode. I like that the female lead is a closet MMA fan.

I'm considering starting Fate/Zero despite hating Fate/Stay Night.

Anyone want to recommend it to me? Otherwise I'm probably going to start GITS or Psycho-Pass.

Start GITS! I suggest the 1995 movie as an initiation. A great work as far as I'm concerned. The original. I at least didn't like SAC (the series after the movie) as much. Wasn't enough of that 90's rough authenticity in it, and SAC *is* more simplistic.
;)

Sorry, didn't see this post.

I've watched the GITS 1995 film multiple times, I've had the series for years now and I've just never been compelled to watch it all. I don't know why, it has everything which I love in a premise and I have fond memories of the few episodes which I've watched as a kid, yet I procrastinate and push it back further and further.

For example, I just plowed through both seasons of Fate/Zero (wasn't disappointed) and now I'm starting Toradora with no idea what to expect. Why can't I just settle down and watch GITS? ;-;

Sooo, finished Jormangund and whilst I have found a new favourite, I have to express how UTTERLY idiotic and naive Koko's master plan was.

Because aside from simply not working as she says it would (not explaining in depth as to why because, duh, spoilers), it would inevitably cause the exact opposite of what she wants to achieve.

I have the same exact problem, man. This is the one series I can't start and stick with, despite everything I see being good.
