I was really dissatisfied with the way season 2 ended but it was a fun ride getting there. I here a season 3 is going to start this October.

I've watched the first five episodes of Darker Than Black. It seems pretty episodic. Is there an overarching plot, or does it follow the "moster of the week" format?

the stories main focus is on the protagonist's unit. You get a few episodes of back story for the 3 of the 4 main characters, then they focus on the main plot but there's really no clear main antagonist. Hei makes some enemies but it's with different factions within the story rather than individual characters. You really don't see all of this culminate until the very end of season one and in the ova.

I like season one but the ova is the best. I almost shed a man tear towards the end tbh.
Season 2 is a mix. There are some parts I liked and other parts that made me go "wtf"

I watched Sword Art Online until the half mark of the second ep. It just got too shallow in where they let that "leader" player "heroically" die. And then won by a slow-mo screaming attack.
A show with nothing serious, nothing noteworthy. IMHO of course.

4Kids Entertainment ruins everything when it comes to Anime. There are some Anime which are not meant "4 Kids."

Yeah, Ghost is spot-on with the fan service thing, but it really isn't a bad show. In fact, it's one of my favorites. Especially the opening.
But yeah, I want to watch it, but I'll have to get online, because Hulu and Netflix don't have it.
Besides, I still need to get back into ZnT, and finish ToraDora.
