Season 3's a tough one to get into, I'll give you that. It's especially lame considering how epic the Season 2 Finale was.

ToraDora is great though. It's funny, cute, and well-animated. I've made it to episode 16. I swear I almost cried.

Season 3 made everything that happened in season 2 irrelevant imo.

In some respects maybe. But one that ppl seem not to get is that Louise and Saito did not get officially married in Season 2. It was basically playing pretend. So all those home wreckers in Season 3 were still technically playing a fair game.....even if they are all dumb and I hate them :I

It's not exactly the marriage thing that's the problem... The series just... Slows down, DRASTICALLY, after Season 2. Nothing incredible has happened in the 7 episodes I've seen so far. It's just kinda disappointing after Season 2's Finale.

I suppose. Things don't really pick back up in terms of speed till Season 4.

Well even though ZnT is your favorite, you're willing to admit that Season 3 isn't the best, so I believe that it's gonna get better.

Getting past this is tough. I'll get to it soon though.

I finished watching the entire series yesterday. Yin is by far my favorite character and I loved the way her character developed in the ova. <3

4Kids Entertainment ruins everything when it comes to Anime. There are some Anime which are not meant "4 Kids."

For Example: One Piece, which was meant for teens and adults, was horribly edited.

The One Piece 4Kids dub was sh!t for babies(or just a really good joke dub), but that does not change the fact that One Piece is very much a series for kids. Boys at age 8 to 13-ish to be precise.

Do you even know what "shonen" means?

Meh, don't forget that Hokuto No Ken, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (pre SBR), used to be shonen despite the graphic violence, and sexual themes. Shonen Jump for the past decade has been conservative compared to other shonen publishers.

Different times, different views. Mind you, violence, gore and sexual themes have little to do with a manga being mature. Gantz is one of the most immature sh!t manga I have ever read, it's got violence, gore, sex and it's even a seinen manga, yet a series like One Piece is still far more mature than it.

Also you really sure about Shonen Jump being more conservative nowadays? They had Death Note and then you have a Jump series like Hunter x Hunter that really pushs the line at times.

Dammit! You still don't acknowledge a different viewing on Gantz! :D

You must though. It does have (intellectual) interest provoking stuff going on there. Given that you don't limit art-forms with morals and content related personal beliefs (I'm not saying Gantz is objectively and in whole original, thought-provoking or "high" art, but it can very possibly be artistic for its presentation alone).

Gantz right now has aliens with more than one dick.:P Nothing to do with morals, and little to do with personal beliefs. It's just a really bad series. But you are right it will make you think about stuff... Stuff like never wanted to read sh!t like Gantz again.;)

Gantz was even weak pretty early on honestly, after initial "thrills" could be settled. Buddha arc obviously is the real source of it falling absolutely apart because that's when the serialization nature kicked in and things started up, fell apart, were forgotten, got more f**king ridiculous and stupid. But it's not like it just got bad after that, because it was working on it for a while.

You want to know when Gantz absolutely seriously became flat out awful?

When that guy put on blackface and massacred like a million people.

That was really when it basically showed its true colors and became definitively bland ultraviolence-action without a human soul to be found.

Also the idea that a guy could massacre that many people was too ridiculous  I'm not trying to say UHM WHERE MY REALISM.... I'm just saying that was f**king stupid. The way characters reacted to it, the narrative's scenario and how it unfolded, the ... the everything.

Also vampires.=]

This much is true. But for this reason alone I found it a fascinating watch (only tried the anime, no thank you for the manga).

In a way these sorts of things make it worthwhile, and artistic, imho. Sure it lacks any normality, but that's only a pro in terms of... uhm... artistically enjoyable stuff.

I recently finished watching Higurashi. All of it.

At first I wasn't overly impressed with all the silly little playful things going on but then it went a little psycho.

****. Got. Real.

Yeah, quite. Though there's far too little for me.
Or might you name a few, maybe I'll take something up and thank you afterwards... :P
And I've already seen Eva, Paranoia Agent and such (as you already know )

@Lazurukeel
Yeah, people always recommend that show. I couldn't get myself to watch past ep 3 or something. There was promise of originality and boundries-defying awesomeness, but I don't believe it in whole.

It's no Geass, and certainly not Evangelion, so "boundaries-defying awesomeness" is probably a little rich but it is a fun watch. The first few episodes were also a struggle for me. If it helps, you could view it as I did, with each character being an over-exaggerated/parody representation of various anime character stereotypes. Before they go crazy and the killing begins. Over and over again.

Actually just watch the rest of Higurashi if you want a another "dark" series. You might like it in the end, It really does fit your tatses in anime. At least I think it does.

Death Note came out in '03 and Hunter x Hunter has been out since '99(Togashi like Oda won't compromise his story for nothing no matter what the editors suggest.) It's mostly (IMHO) when it comes to my observation on all Shonen Jump's manga from the 80's til now. It's probably because i'm disillusioned right now with Naruto & Bleach after reading them today.

I agree with you about  the violence & sexual themes in regards to the overall maturity of a story. Fortunately for  Hnk, and JJBA those series have good writers compared to Gantz. Lol @ Gantz, Oku relies too much on sex & gore for the shock value, and when he's making a social commentary on society it's muddled by the sex & gore. Heck the only characters he properly developed were Kato & Kei, but they have been stagnant for hundreds of chapters.

Death Note may have came out in 2003 but it ended in 2006, so yeah it's been like six years since it ended. Still it was a risky series.

Togashi may not be an editor's b!tch anymore, but he still takes forever to get back to writing and drawing. There is a reason people call it Hiatus x Hiatus.

As for Oku he should just go back to making porn, he was much better at that than writing/drawing B movie sh!t like Gantz.

That right there is my main gripe with History's strongest Disciple Kenichi. The fan sevice was bearable at first but it's ridiculous now. The series showed so much promise but it feels meh to me now.<_<
