I wouldnt say they are my favorites but Bleach actually had some good intros. It almost tricks me into thinking the show looks interesting.

Checked out the newest Naruto chap, and lol @ Kishimoto for hitting Mads with an absurd amount of plot induced stupidity.

Madara: (feels weird upchucks stuff) Huh, Rikudou's artifacts? Meh, they're useless to me. (leaves them behind for anyone to use against him)

Mind you, these are holy artifacts that are created by the verse's equivalent of Jesus Christ. smh

Yeah its definitely one of those "just go with it..." moments. The plot dictated it had to happen so happen it did.

Bleach is still worse though. Half the chapters are spent having the characters explaining how their attacks work in intricate detail to their enemies.

Characters monologuing about their abilities is what the latest Bleach chapters are about, or more specifically it's the series as a whole in a nutshell.

I have some similar feelings towards the Bleach and Naruto mangas. I still read both because I have been invested for so long but I have lost most of my emotional investment towards them. Both have been going on for absurdly long, both have a huge cast of characters but rarely kill anyone off other then villains, and both can be contrived for plots sake.

But at least I always felt like the plot was progressing in Naruto even if it was still only subpar. Maybe its just me but If you look at how much actually happens in the average chapter of Bleach compared to Naruto it feels like Naruto usually gives twice the story for the same amount of content.

I wish I could say you were wrong, I really do. But I cant. They were both my favorite anime/manga at one point too. I will just ride on all the good nostalgic memories until both the series finally end and I can move on.

I know I did, I mean I still read them because it takes like 5 second to read the chapters. But there are way better series out there.

The bad parts of these series outweigh the good parts. Naruto lost the story themes of being a hardworking underdog and that hurt it most of all. Because I really don't get care about Sasuke, his magic eyeballs, his family's magic eyeballs, magic eyeballs in general and Jesus ninja crap. And that is what the whole series is about now.

Bleach's big problem was that it went on for more than 4 books.



So yeah read better stuff.

I read quite a bit of manga on a regular bases. But none that are nearly as lengthy as those two. I like it when a story actually has a beginning and an ending instead of "lets just see how long we can drag this out for"

Yeesh that was painful. I can deal with soundtrack dissonance and more often then not love it (for example Coheed and Cambria's Number City is an upbeat song.... about a car crash and I love it immensely. And they've done others) but I can't get past the engrish.
