The only thing Ive watched recently from Kyoto animation is Chunibyo and it has had some amazingly done scenes (like the end of season 1) but as a whole its animation is only slightly above average for me. Maybe I just need to check out some more of their stuff?

@Isichar: Beyond the Boundary is pretty good IMO unless you have a visceral reaction to moe. Because there's a lot of that. (in one character, mind you)
Also the humor has pretty good timing, subject matter less good (lot of weird fetish humor) but I think they were tactful enough to never really step beyond... beyond... *sigh* across the line.
And there's a certain fairytale aspect of the ost that I found endearing. Fit pretty well.

Shaft continually amazes me with their stuff. Like watching the Madoka movies nearly every single scene wows me in terms of the animation.
I'd say movies are a different beast, though. They usually get an entire season's worth of funding for two hours worth of scenes, allowing a lot of awe-inspiring scenes. Madoka Rebellion was fantastic and it's up there in my favorites along with Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

HxH is going to be over by this year, they are almost where the manga stopped. It will not even make 200 episodes. As long as they don't do filler, but I really doubt they would do that.Isichar wrote...
I watched the first few episodes of Nisekoi and had mixed feelings. On the one hand I think Shaft has done an amazing job with it, on the other hand I have never been a fan of Harems and from the sounds of it the plot ends up going quite a while without any real developments. But I will still keep an eye on it.
As for HxH maybe I will wait until its finished. But I dont know if I could stomache another anime that is 100+ episodes. I gave up on both Naruto and Bleach long before they hit the triple digits. Infact I have never been able to watch an anime that long and remain invested (not since I was younger and watched DBZ at least).
And it is worth it, unlike those other two shows.

Thats true. The movies are a different story. Nisekoi has had some pretty amazing animation imo too, however. They have a very artsy style, which I like.

So Clannad next?

I'd recommend Clannad, After Story is fantastic.
From the sounds of it this is where the real juicy content is.

I'm starting Jojo 2012, what should I expect? I never heard anything about the series except that it's manly.
No, it is:

I guess they could call it Posing: The anime ... because everybody body poses. ALL THE TIME.

Still, is there a sequel to 2nd GIG? A movie or an OVC? I'd like to see what happens next :-)
I'm gonna watch Wolf and Spice now. If it turns out to be a cheesy as **** romance story I'll leave it for Black Lagoon or Ergo Proxy.

Yay! Found a film, Solid state society!
Well, you found the movie.
There is a prequel series for GitS:SAC, but frankly I don't like the break of artistic style. I don't like it so much in fact that I didn't give it a chance to be honest, but there's a couple things that I absolutely MUST have consistency, which are artstyle, voice over and tone. I simply can't stand characters looking and/or moving different than before, changing voice actors is a simply no-go for me (also the premier reason I didn't buy Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Ironside for Fisher or bust!) and a dark, serious anime suddenly getting dumped with gags is nothing I like either.

Love Both series for the crass and wacky humor to it.
