As for it's fan service, yeah it's got more than it ever has right now, yet at the same time it's got some chapters with little to no fan service. So meh.
@eroeru Hen was what I was talking about.
As for what else? Me~teru no Kimochi is very porny. Zero One is far less ecchi that his other works but that's not saying much when you got Hen and Gantz.
Now the kind of man that Hiroya Oku is? I say a pervy "artist" who can't write to save his life.:innocent:

Sucks that the show is only 12 episodes and what sucks even more is that the manga is on hiatus.

Kinda confirms my views on the very "different" types of aspects in japanese people, and also gives some notice about the creation of Gantz.
Gantz is bloody distorted - almost against the will of the mangaka. And yes, this distortedness is probably the main reason to like it.
The actress Chiaki Kuriyama seems interesting as well. Her comments about disliking horror and being "addicted" to Gantz first time after Evangelion give a hint as to some similar aspects of the shows.

It's a decent show story ad character wise. But the fan service is just extraordinarily prevelant. It's everywhere....every single episode.

The only anime on Netflix i've somewhat enjoyed are Blood plus and Elfen lied. I wander if they have eureka seven.
in other news, I've found out that Yin's (J)VA also does the voice of Oshawott in pokemon.

Oku made a character based on Kuriyama's role from Kill Bill, but her and all those stupid vampires just up and disappear in the middle of the "story" never to be seen again...eroeru wrote...

Again, Oku is not "different" or "interesting" from other mangaka he is just a bad writer/artist. Gantz's distortedness is not on purpose, it's just Oku's inexperience when it comes to manga.:innocent:

Yeah, I just saw it as a parody of all the anime stereotypes to be honest. That's what kept me watching it. Had I taken it seriously, I probably would've stopped about 2 or 3 episodes in. That said, Saeko is a badass.

On purpose or not (though I cannot believe a comic can be much otherwise) - it is interesting for many a person. Now what's the reason behind this interesting nature of the show/manga is questionable, but not so much important as you may imply. It can easily be that he is inexperienced and has no honed skills - but that can be interesting in itself (a long shot would be to draw a parallel with 20th Century surrealists, naivists and others who promoted "letting go" of learned traits but well, it also could have merit imo).

You either have the skill to make manga or you don't, with little to no middle ground of quality.eroeru wrote...

And the maganka that don't have the skill, in my view never really make anything interesting.
Anyway on different note, I am back from the fisrt day of Otakon(my poor feet...) and I got Jason David Frank's autograph. Also got me two One Piece Portrait of Pirates figures, the PoP figures are always the best.

Blood+ and Elfen Lied are pretty good, haven't watched Blood+ in awhile though. I was looking for Eureka 7 but I don't think they have it.Arch1eviathan wrote...

I'm a big Satoshi Kon fan, but I hadn't seen Tokyo Godfathers until today. It was a great, heartwarming story with a couple of Satoshi Kon twists, but as he was only one of the writers, it wasn't anywhere near as wacko drug-trippy crazy as Paprika or Perfect Blue or Millennium Actress. Three homeless people--a drag queen, an older guy, and a 16 year old runaway, all with their own family problems--find an abandoned baby at Christmastime. Do they keep it? Do they try to find its parents? Do they go on a metaphysical action-adventure? Yes, yes, and very yes, and it's amazing!
20th Century Boys: I don't read manga. Period. I just never got into the format and, while I enjoy those anime programs that have come from manga, I don't read manga. A couple of Christmases ago, I was at my friendly local comic book store with my friends--the store was having a Boxing Day sale--and since I was spending money anyway, I asked my comics guru friend to pick something out for me to read. He asked me to do the same. I don't remember what i picked out for him, but he picked out 20th Century Boys, a manga about some mysterious murders and a wacko cult. It is also about a group of childhood friends who created a club for themselves, complete with a secret clubhouse and a secret symbol. Coincidentally, the wacko cult that is behind these mysterious killings, uses the same secret symbol. The now-adult friends must now find out what this cult is, which one of their old childhood friends is leading it, and holy crap the craziness!
Next on my anime viewing list will probably be Le Chevalier d'Eon.

lol I'm alright with Hitsugaya and I doubt he'll die because he has a ridiculously high fanbase. That's why I'm still doubting Byakuya is dead. Byakuya, Kenpachi and Hitsugaya have the highest captian fanbases. Any other captian I could see getting killed off but these three? That's kind of stupid on Kubo's part....
That being said I would totally be all for Hitsugaya being killed off if it meant Byakuya got to live
