Wow that's the first time I've heard someone not liking the game xD strange :P

Not "liking" isn't exactly the word.

I'd say i enjoyed a minor part of the experience but overall it had far more bad then good.

Its like negative impartiality i suppose.

Like Neutral hostility i guess.

I'll give Clannad a try. I f I don't almost tear up I demand a bag of Oreo cookies as compensation for the false advertisement.

Depends what makes you tear up.

Let me see...

Best way to do this is to bottle EVERYTHING real life hits at you up, and then let all that **** out when playin games, watching series, reading books etc...

So anything else that's even CLOSE to Clannad? Maybe not in feels, but in hilarity, romance and cool characters?

P.S I vow if I ever father a bastard I will be the coolest dad ever. Akio, man, what a LAD.

I don't bottle emotions. If they come, they come. Like I almost teared up during the first season of Chunnibyou demo koi ga shitai once and the end of TWD. That's it.

ISICHAR YOU SNEAKY BASTARD

HAHAAHAHAHAH

I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER NEVER CRIED IN JOY.

OMFG

YOU LITTLE SHITE I LOVE YOU XD

:D I knew you would like it. This series was basically made for people that get emotionally invested into the characters.

I almost couldn't bring myself to watch the last episode myself, this series managed to crush my emotional well being and make me cry tears of joy at the same time. I have nothing but respect for the writers.

So how did you feel about the other world story by the end and how it connected to the main story by the end?

Have not watched the other ones but angel beats is a solid watch for the feels. Not quite at After Story's level but still worth watching.

As long as I get a few laughs in. Though nothing will probably beat the respect I have for Akio haha. That guy and Lee are the ultimate parental figures xD

And Isichar, the whole another world stuff? It bothers me because it took the whole human element away from the story, but at the same time, I can't get angry because I'm so happy at how everything was wrapped up.

Let's put it this way.

As a person, I loved it. Thank god I put up with its crap and recognised that this would be very significant early on. I was actually WAITING for something to happen, but then that happened and you lose all hope.

As an literature enthusiast I think it wasn't as well done as it could be. But it's so ambigious that I suppose it gets away with the whole "just go along with it" trope. That, plus the emotional impact the ending has and you've pretty much manipulated your audience into accepting this half-assed miracle in the first place haha xD

Oh god, I loved it. Seriously!

Aaaaanddd....

I've heard this is good.

"Ouran High School Host Club Dub"

Is it?

Angel Beats was pretty damn boring and I have yet to see whats so good about Maeda Juns "great story telling" in this one because I'm not seeing it.

<_<

I enjoyed Ouran personally.

Very Humorous and light, not overly long even with the OVA but that isn't a bad thing by it self.

Although you do have another man calling a man "mama" <_< so if that isn't your thing well...I'd avoid.

All the incest and homosexuality is just blatant innuendo and have what have you but it is present through out so if it isn't you thing like i said; Avoid.

Well, is the incest used for interesting character development and plot points (e,g Jaime and Cersei?) Or is it just there for incest's sake.

If so...

I'll avoid it. Unless its comedy is brilliant, then I'll just forget the whole thing. I'm not self-righteous enough to care about incest and its rights/wrongs whatever, but I just don't want to watch a show that's being silly for the sake of a boner.

Neither in fact the incest is propitiated not only them but by the Host Club it self as a means of...Securing business or some such rot <_< honestly Japanese school girls.

It's used in a satirical regard for "clients" of the host club, There is evidence to suggest and debunk the notion if it is occurring in truth or if it is merely part of the performance required. I am of the mind it's actually happening given that well if you spend long enough living a lie, the lie becomes reality <_<

The main reason i pointed it out to begin with was because it's one of the first things people tend to point out from the series as making it wacky and what have you.

Ultimately your choice if you want to bother with it or no but i'd advise giving it a chance before writing it off.

I find it fairly entertaining ._.

Welcome to the NHK is my next favourite slice of life after Clannad. It's funny, emotional and has IMO some of the best side characters in anime. It's one of those shows were everyone has a story.

I'd recommend giving that one or angel beats a try next.

Incest is a pretty much usual theme in anime. There *are* more serious ones tho, related to that. But most are comedic. You'll understand when you'll research more into anime.

As to more shows with similar feels to Clannad - I'd say Asatte no Houkou is similar. + there's the great college-themed anime Honey and Clover, and Nodame Cantabile. Do give them a try.

Also, I cannot understand how come you didn't see Paranoia Agent to be of magical psychological themes from the first ep onwards. The excuses' and idols' theme rings throughout the OP and the very first episode.

Clannad had not-so-realistic themes to it. Similar to magical realism. Basically my favorite genre. Just behind "pretentious" symbolism with something provoking to the extent of "odd", "strange", "creepy" and "dreamlike". Expanding on everyday *and* fantasy with *ideas* tucked in with emotions (whether of nightmarish or afterlife-freedom-love stuff).

After watching enough anime most of these taboos don't even phase me anymore. Incestous and loli themes are commonplace in anime, even the more out there stuff like eyeball fetish hardly seems surprising coming from the Japanese media.

Sim never go into a Key anime looking for laughs. You go in looking to cry like a baby.

Rumbling Hearts had them feels too.

I'll get to that later, I've only had four hours of sleep today and I've been emotionally exhausted after Clannad. I'll have to chew on my response as well, I know what I want to say but don't know quite how to put it yet.

And since the whole incest thing seems to be normal I'll go a long with it. It was hilarious how Clannad made fun of it hahah xD I suppose the Japanese take the ****** out of it. I've got nothing against it, you wanna fall in love with your sister? Go ahead, be my guest. I'll even pay for your hostel room for the night. Just don't go crying to me when your babies are inbred and mutated.

Man, what a culture. I'd love to go there and just do everything the Japanese do for a month. As well as China and other Asian countries. I've experienced Moroccan culture enough to be familiar with it, and I love going there and just doing what they do. Moroccans are so fun to be with once you get to know them well. I wonder what it would be like to stay with an Asian family.

Right now, though I might chill with angels seeing as it's from the same creators as Clannad, after that I might return to more serious anime, perhaps start of with another Ghost in the Shell movie <3

Daily lives of highschool boys is pretty funny. I'm still wishing for another season.
