I'm questioning what it says about me if Kill la Kill had a logical plot until that teenytiny hole that might go unanswered.

Watched the first episode of Kill La Kill on CrunchyRoll..

I'm not really sure what I just watched.

Would you guys say the series gets better or not really?

Can anyone tell me if Kotonoha no Kiwa is worth watching for anything other then the amazing looking animation?

The animation is on a whole different level.

If you watched 5cm Per Second you should know what to expect - a bittersweet story about 2 people and their strange relationship.

The Garden of Words is only 45 minutes long tough, and I personally liked 5cm a bit more, but it is good.

Only if you are willing to run with the premise. The fighting gets way better, the story definitely picks up but it never stops being over the top crazy.

Also, it has a good OST.

@Lotion Soranarr

I have not watched 5cm Per Second, but I am intrigued. Which would you suggest watching first betweem 5cm Per Second and Kotonoha no Kiwa?

I actually enjoy the world and the story.

However, is it prudish of me that the biggest turnoff was the reveal of the costume? I was rooting for her but then she started wearing that costume I couldn't take her seriously (lol) after that.

...

...

...

It's hilarious. I could take crazy from the over-the-top fights to the weird dialogue but toss in half-naked chicks as fan-service and I suddenly turn off.

Maybe it's just me.

I'm weird like that.

They are going to actually address that.

But they do not get more clothing.

Yeah, the real problem was that they were even wearing clothing to begin with.

5cm Per Second is superior imho. The ending left me thinking for days.

Haha, I figured as much.

Well at least they give SOME explanation.

It's on my short list, since I need to watch something not about high schoolers for a change.

I don't really know what I would expect out of Samurai Flamenco. Stupidly enough, the title by itself is kind of a buzzkill for me.

Finished Bakemonogatari. Guess I'll just put all of this in spoiler tags because w/e:

Hurr..difficult to say.

Both are visually stunning. There's a reason 5cm Per Second is called 5 Wallpapers Per Second.

5cm is longer and thematicly they are similar.

5cm deal with growing up, how distance and time affect relationship. Conversely, it's story spans a lot longer, with characters starting as kids and it makes jumps from there on, until they are adults at the end. For the most of the movie they are in the teens tough.

Garden of Words is a bit different. I'm not going to spoiler much by telling you that the story is about a 18 year old boy and a woman in her late 20's and their somewhat unusual relationship - moreso given her position.

Both are bittersweet and have a "true to life" ending and will burn yourself into your memory and leave you emotionally drained and confused.

TIP: If you do watch 5cm Per Second, if the ending seems too sad - check the final (extra) chapter of the Manga. It basicly shows you what happens right after the movie ends, and while the ending is still not certain, it adds to it.

Look... I really like NHK, but ffs man, it is a painful watch. Not because of feels, or tragedy...

But Sato must be the biggest ****** idiot I've seen since Yukki in Future Diary.

Finished.

Well, that sucks. I don't feel satisfied at all with that ending. The relationship never got to blossom again, and it all felt quite forced. Sato is still a bloody idiot and his sudden 'revelation' on his feelings was kind of 'meh.'

Apart from that, I enjoyed it. But it seems to me that the romance arc never really knew where it was going, or at least, when it got back on track, the thing stopped.

So...

Apparently there's a chapter 41 in the manga that hasn't been published yet? (I went to check it out after the anime.)

So I was wondering where I could download anime that doesn't involve pirate bay. I'd like to support a site before doing it.

The thing is, I would normally buy the series, like I did with Death Note, but Code Geass seems to have become a rarity, there is no way I'm paying 80 quid for the first season. I've seen it, of course, but it's to show my mum. She loved Death Note so she wants to see more.

@Sim

Crunchyroll is the Netflix of animes. 6 bucks a month, has tons of ongoing stuff and updates regularly. Sure, it's missing a lot of good stuff but it's got a great selection for what you pay. Plus it's got apps for streaming devices like phones/tablets/PS3&4 ect.

And yeah the ending to welcome to the NHK was kind of anti-climactic, at least in terms of the romance, I have been reading the manga so we will see where that goes.

So what's next? I know FMA: Brotherhood has been suggested a few times here, that's a pretty solid watch if you have not checked it out yet.

I'll also throw another recommendation out there for Love, Chunibyou and Other Delusions, which is another romance, comedy, slice of life. It's currently airing it second season ATM, but even if you wanted to wait for that to finish the first season is great self contained story. This anime has my favourite couple in anime and one of my favourites across all fiction. The way the 2 main characters interact is fairly unique, entertaining and touching all at the same time. And unlike NHK this one has an extremely satisfying and feelsy ending.
