Steins;Gate was pretty good for a harem/dating sim anime.

I think the only weak part of the series is that Moeka character (the one with big t**s and glasses).

I hear a lot about Steins;Gate, what about Chaos;Head or Robotic;Notes? Any of the Fates aside from /Zero? I am also looking at these "A Certain ____ ____"s with some curiosity.

I watched Chaos;Head and Robotic;Notes and I liked the both, especially Robotic;Notes; for me was really good.

btw I watch subbed, so idtk if dubs any good.

So about 2000,000 million years ago, a guy here recommended something called "Reich." It looked awesome, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, and it looks too old to be anywhere that won't charge me 10 billion dollars and a bus token for it.

 

I just want to bookmark it for later. I have no intention on watching something so (supposedly) long right now xD

Steins;Gate is the best of them all. Chaos;Head I enjoyed, though it's apparently really rough - I sometimes enjoy those. Robotics was meh for me. It's kinda interesting though.

 

As for Railgun (a certain scientific) series - well, from my perspective, the name is the most interesting part of em...

Finished Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and starting Zoku now, should I expect more of the same or will it get worse/better? I'd like to set my expectations accordingly.

Seriously though, I love Gurren Lagann. It's pretty amazing. Kill la Kill is by the same people, if I recall correctly. I haven't started it yet, but I've heard good things.

 

Question though, are you watching TTGL subbed? As far as Gurren Lagann goes, it's one anime out of a handful that I actually like better dubbed. I also learned that Simon's dub voice is the same as Makoto's in the English version of Persona 3.

 

SPEAKING OF, I'd love to know when to expect that movie here in the states. I want it, and I want it really bad.

I finished episodes 5 and 6 of KlK last night. Firstly: Nudist Beeeeeeach. Both were really good and after 6, I'm hoping the rest of the Elite Four get the same sort of treatment. I know I'm way behind everyone else but do we know for sure that 24 will be the series or season finale? I ask just so I can keep it in mind as I get later in the series.

Yeah it should be over after 24 episodes (22 ATM, so 2 more)

Judging from the pacing I am guessing the series finale... Your still pretty early on but things really start to pick up after episode 8.. Like seriously the pacing in this show is in a league of its own.

Has everyone worked out what they're watching for the next season? Not much has really caught my eye besides Gokukoku no Brynhildr and Mekakucity Actors (Kagerou Project).

 

Also, I'm not sure if I like the voices for the Attack on Titan dub. If Greg Ayres is voicing Eren there is no way in hell I'm touching it.

 

It is. Don't forget, she also had the best theme.

 

 

As for how the movie treats Homura, I guess you will just have to see for yourself It seems to be one of those things you will either LOVE or HATE.

 

True enough. There's been a lot of hate for the fact that Urobuchi was forced by higher-ups to write what happens in Rebellion instead of what he originally wanted, but I consider it a good thing. With how it went down, Homura may be my favorite anime character ever and I would be perfectly content if they ended Madoka here.

Looks like I was wrong not to check out Samurai Flamenco before. Gotou is pretty much a grown-up Kyon in every way, even down to having the same voice actor. After the 7th episode I wonder if the story is getting crazy like Haruhi too.

ohhhhhohohho my, the story gets so ridiculous later on, you will see.

Has everyone worked out what they're watching for the next season?

I heard we're getting a new season of Mushishi in april. Normally I prefer to watch completed seasons/series so that I can watch them by blocks of 4 or more episodes back to back, but I don't think I'll be able to resist that one.

Hopefully it's as good as the first season.

So I was thinking about Steins;Gate more well I was at work today.

I wouldn't say the ending was bad but I was a bit disappointed with Shouichi as the antagonist at the end, he was such a loser. I actually guessed that that it would end up being Okabe that killed Kurisu since episode 1, but I wasn't impressed with how it went down. Both scenes with Okabe, Shouichi and Kurisu basically just had me going "Uhh...ok..."

 

I kind of like how Okabe had to trick the world into thinking Kurisu was dead or w.e, but otherwise the ending was surprisingly straightforward. I think I'm just too use to these alternate reality/time travel stories ending with more of a mindscrew, the focus was much more on the romance aspect by the end, which I admit was not really what I was watching it for... ah well.

 

I would also agree with BMW, Moeka was a pretty bad character. I like a well handled introvert character, but she was not one.

 

I'd give the series a 8/10. I think theres a few things they could have done better, but it was a solid watch with an amazing middle.

I was glad there wasn't some mind screw ending, because generally those types of endings don't make no sense. I more or less agree with your other points though.

True, they usually don't, but if pulled off properly I would have considered the series a 10/10 despite some minor pacing issues on a few key episodes. It just seems like if any kind of series is going to have an ending that is a mind screw by the end, it would be Steins;Gate.
