I'm hoping the Black Swordsman arc is covered better than the current movies.
I need more Berserk. ;-;

Okay, is there anything that would inhibit my being able to post here? Like I said, I've replied to each answer given for the art question I asked and for some reason it won't let me bloody post it here.

So in the new Bleach chapter Zaraki Kenpachi has now inherited the name of Kenpachi and become Zaraki Kenpachi.. Mind blown.
I think somewhere inside you secretly love Bleach heheh xD
I've never seen it myself, and I won't if everything all you guys have said about the pacing is true. I don't mind filler episodes if they're fun, though. Like if it's just all the characters making banter, then I'm cool with it.

Bleach is 60% filler, so I'm confident that you would find some filler you like in there.
The Bount Arc wasn't horrible....better then a lot of the filler arcs that followed it.
It had a halfway decent storyboard that fit well into the lore and meshed what was actually in the canon, unlike a lot of the actual canon that proceeded it.

I still do have a bit of a soft spot for some of the characters, there were some fun moments but it's largely wasted potential.

@Sim
maybe PM a mod about not being able to post the response to the art posts, thats pretty odd though.

Its pretty entertaining once you stop taking it seriously, the problem is that its intended to be serious (Recently I made a post saying I wake up every Wednesday morning and ask myself "Just how stupid is Bleach going to be today?"). The most amusing thing about Bleach is its own lack of self awareness over just how bad the plot has become (you could argue it was not that great to begin with, but I thought the first 3ish seasons were good).
I think the fights are pretty decent, same with each characters individual abilities and powers, but it lacks any decent character development outside combat. And the plot takes so long to develop I can honestly say that I've seen Kill La Kill episodes that had more development then an entire season of Bleach does.
Also, well TMH is mostly right about it being like 60% filler, he forgot to mention that the majority of main story is so watered down that its nearly indistinguishable from the filler. Seriously though, its not just a few episodes of fillers, its entire seasons of it.
Hey anyone ever wonder what happened to characters in Bleach that were portrayed as being important, given a ton of screentime and just faded into the barren desert that is Bleachs plot? Chad, Orihime, Ganju, hanataro and so on... Why did the series waste so much time on these characters just to discard them? And honestly, even the characters I like are really not that interesting, they are just sort of quirky. Its got like 100 characters, and to be clear I think the characters are alright, there's a few I actually really like, but they never (Or rarely) grow or change in any interesting way. Most just end up forgotten by the end.
@Master Warder Z
I HATED the bount arc, but I'll admit thats more because of my raw hatred towards fillers rather then thinking it was actually bad. I really didn't find the mod souls part to be that interesting, seeing as how the story can barely find an excuse to stick Kon in anymore without introducing a bunch of mod souls that are even less important then him. I knew the moment Ichigo lost his ability to use his Bankai that **** was bad. 1-2 episodes of fillers I'm ok with more then 3 and I start to get annoyed, entire seasons of fillers are just giant time sinks (Imagine watching the endless eight from Haruhi like 20-30 times in a row, that's the equivalent of watching Bleach)
I still enjoy Naruto, would I say its one of my favorite animes? Nah, not by a long shot, but its something I grew up with and has a special place in my heart. I really want the series to just end because its had more then a good run, but Naruto despite being longer then Bleach is still way better as far as I'm concerned.
if I was going to score them I would give Bleach a 3/10, and I would probably give Naruto a 6/10 (which is actually pretty impressive considering my heavy bias against longer animes)

You know whats funny about Naruto? The first real arc when they travel to that village to protect the bridge maker, is probably my favorite arc in the entire series. The chuunin Exams were a freaking blast as well. I thought everything with Akatsuki and what came later was ok, but it never reached the same height that it did back when it started.
To be fair, these kind of changes seem to happen more frequently then we would like to think, there was some talk about Attack on Titan changing the ending up based on popularity recently. Another reason I prefer shorter animes, they sort of have to have an idea of where they are going.

Akatsuki was awesome!

._.'' and i'm not just saying that because them all dying ruined my entire cosplay wardrobe...

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I did like Akatsuki. As far as villains go they were mostly interesting, entertaining, badass and I can actually remember most of them individually so thats a good sign, but I had already begun to lose some of my emotional investment in the story at that point (some, not all).
When you compare Akatsuki to a group like the Arrancars in Bleach, thats where you really notice the difference between the 2 series. Akatsuki actually did stuff, the Arrancars just died one by one pathetically.

Anyone here read bakuman?
There was a bit in there where they said it was better for a manga to have a short run with a strong ending, leaving the fans wanting more, rather than stretching it out just because it's selling well.
Eiji Nizuma goes through a lot of trouble to put his money where his mouth is and does precisely that in fact.
A possible "take that!" to bleach perhaps?
I've never watched/read bleach BTW, it really didn't look like my kinda thing.

Nope, but it looks like something I may enjoy. Also, I respect the authors mentality.
I know its not anime, but imagine if Breaking Bad kept going because it was popular instead of wrapping things up... It would have completely destroyed the impact of the evolution of Walter White. Not enough shows are willing to quit well they are ahead, and it hurts the series long term.

Same author/artist pairing as death note, if that's of interest to you.

Yeah, I liked Death Note. Funny enough that's one series that went on a bit longer then it should have, but I can mostly forgive it.

Watch the live-action adaptation if you can stomach it, the ending is infinitely better.

Does it end with L and Light admitting their love for each other, and running off into the mountains to live happily ever after? That's really how it should have ended.
I'm intrigued now though, I will have to check that out.
