Too much of a clean freak for my tastes, though I find him a hell of a lot more interesting then Mikasa atm.
So some moments in the final Kill La Kill episode that were swell

@Sim
ye but, having too excessively clean of an environment can actually make your immune system weaker ![]()
As for Mikasa, is there really more to her then meets the eye? Yeah sort of, but not that much more. Not so far at least.
Now Armin and Jean, those are two characters I think are great, I like their dynamic with each other the most so far.
P.S. I would totally switch teams if I knew a guy like in the anime I'm watching now.

My immune system is strong; don't worry. I have a trigger for these things. At home, I'm a clean freak. At work?
See that pile of sh*t on the floor? I'll gladly scoop it up with no problem with my bare hands.
I've worked in zoos before. Even been attacked my monkeys.
It was fun.
And I'm totally being serious atm.
As for switching teams? Hell yeah! I'd rather be bisexual though, because then you have Revy... Olivia Armstrong...Riza Hawkeye... Haruhi *drools*
heh heheh.
Also, that's one kawai titan! Just look at those eyes... awww
Completely missed this... but cute?!
Those eyes are just... god... they're so freaking weird when it's put in there xD

True. Still, this is like.. the perfect guy.

And he constantly gets shafted in the show, which just makes me like him even more.
As for the titans..
Yeah man, I'm a sucker for those BIG beady eyes.
And to be fair, that is an aberrant/adnormal type titan in the gif. Regular titans are much more normal and civilized.

Yeah, I heard that later in the manga they cook you instead of just eating you raw. Food poisoning? Perish the thought!
That dude looks like Shou from Guilty Crown. Come to think of it, a lot of people look like Shou from freaking Guilty Crown -.-

Anyways thats enough yaoi for now, I'm starting to make myself wonder.
Yuri anyone? Anyone watch the last episode of Sakura Trick? In which sakura petals rained down on the characters no matter where they were for half the episode.

Awww... can't butt in to this one. I haven't got to that one yet. ><
Anyway I'll binge some more and then go to sleep eventually. I'll probably have weird Yoai dreams now, so I'll just read something so I don't get my head wrapped in it. But tbh, my fantasies would be more like Levi and Revy kicking the sh*t out of each other. Yeah, it's not Yaoi, but that crap is sooooo hot.
I hope you know that I'm crazy, right?

Speaking of crazy, make sure to add Kill La Kill to your list to watch. Its finished the series (I think) at 24 episodes. Its one of the most batshit over the top epic things I have ever seen in and outside anime, though I still have not seen FLCL yet... Either way, this anime exists for the soul purpose of just having a great friggin time.

I know there's a handful of Lain fans here so I'm curious if anyone happens to be fond of another series that I happen to adore; Boogiepop Phantom. The light novels have been (mostly, last time I checked) translated and I'm happy to at least own the first one as it gives some proper backstory that the series glosses over a bit. Absolutely no one should be surprised to hear this from me, but the soundtrack is really nice. Kind of a mix of simple electronic and so much more but it fits the atmosphere so well.

I like your thought process isichar
and there's nothing wrong with being open minded about sexuality, you have to realize (just like isichar said) that love is based on personality, and is valid no matter where it comes from
i have heard that sakura trick is really good, and that the finale was also very good. I was holding off watching it because I didn't want to start something that i couldn't complete right away, but I will probably watch it as soon as I can. I really hope it gets a second season
its vying for the number one spot on my watch list right now, but I am trying to concentrate more on manga.
in a month another yuri will be airing, called akuma no ridoru, its not just yuri like some of the other series that have been mentioned on here, rather it deals with a girl trying to survive being attacked by assassins, and then one of the assassins falls in love with her and they try to defeat the others together. so its action and yuri
it looks really good, and is based off a manga (which I haven't read unfortunately). I would recommend it just because I think yuri is a really under-appreciated genre that needs more attention ![]()

@MhmbaSR1
I agree! Things are much funner that way, besides why limit oneself? On a somewhat related and yet unrelated note I find anime has really helped to broaden my horizons in a few aspects, particularly in what kind of genres I can enjoy and am willing to check out. I was not a huge fan of romance or slice of life animes a few years back, now they are some of my favorite genres.
As for Sakura Trick, its good, but in a very fluffy kind of way, which is what I liked about it (its a nice contrast to what I usually watch) I should warn you it has a ton of gratuitous kissing fanservice, and a couple swimsuit episodes that are slightly questionable, but otherwise its main focus is just on the relationship between the two friends as they slowly fall more and more in love without even fully understanding what love is. What surprised me most about the show is how well it wraps things up, the ending manages to deliver a satisfying conclusion to the conflict that comes up, I was expecting things to remain either unresolved or resolved poorly, luckily that is not the case.
One of the main 2 character, Haruka, amused me to no end. A sexual deviant if I ever saw one. She spends all her time at school and at home fantasizing about kissing her best friend and shipping all her female friends together, its hilarious how dazed and excited she gets at the mere thought of yuri ![]()
As for Akuma No Riddle, its already one of the ones I'm planning on watching as its airing. Me and my RL anime friend usually pick 3-5 series each to watch together and that was on both our lists so its definitely something I will at least start watching, and continue if its any good. I like the art style and character designs from what I've seen. I kind of wanted to check out a few chapters of the manga to get an idea of what to expect, but on the other hand I also like watching a series when everything is fresh.
@SimfamSP
You watched all 9 episodes? Lol. Your coming along nicely young Otaku ![]()
Kill La Kill is too amazing to limit itself to any one genre.
Surrender you pig in Human Clothing! Surrender to the greatness that is Kill La Awesomeness (Trust me, you will be much happier when you do)
@AnimusandAnima
isi? ISI?!?! Unfriended and blocked (j/k
) Yeah thats fine lol
Lain use to be one of my favorite animes, I'm actually watching Texhnolyze as I type this just because Ereoru mentioned that it is so similar to Lain (oh man he was not kidding) Whats is it about exactly? If it is similar to Lain then it is probably something I would be very interested in checking out.
Also how far into KLK are you now?

I have commited a mortal sin on your person.
lol! I tend to draw the vague comparisons with Lain and Boogiepop cause if I rememeber correctly, they came out around the same time. Whereas both Lain and Texhnolyze involve more the relationship between technology and humans, Boogiepop is a bit more on the horror front and personal relationships. The meaning of self and personal responsibility is a big note to it as well. There is some graphic violence in a few episodes, but nothing on the level of Corpse Party and the like. Episode 10 is easily my favorite of the series. I kind of want to point out the main music piece of it cause I love it so much. Maybe I will but it also works even better in context of the episode.
ETA: Okay, apparently I can't pass up the opportunity to share it cause I adore it muchly.
For KlK I haven't been able to make any more progress yet cause the house has been busy but this weekend is supposed to be fairly quiet, so it should give me time to get even a few more episodes in. :3

For some reason the 10th episode seems to be the best one in quite a few animes I watch, I wonder why that is... seems like an odd coincidence.
Violence doesn't bother me unless I really care about the characters and am not expecting it. I'm far more terrified and disturbed by messed up subtext like in Madoka Magica, or crazy amounts of uncontrollable feels like in Clannad, or love triangles like in one of the animes I'm watching now *shutters*
I googled Corpse Party, I've seen scenes from it before, though I never knew the name of the anime that they were part of. I wonder if its any good, insane violence aside.
P.S. I just bought a 200 dollar Madoka Art book online... ugh damn my lack of self control, but on the other hand I can't wait to get it
I like collecting art books for series I loved and this one looks great.
mm-mm-mm treat-yo-self
P.S.S. listening to the song atm... damn I love that kind of ambient style! Seriously, thanks for sharing that! Reminded me of M4 part 1 by the Faunts, which is one of my favorite songs ever made. Is the rest of the OST that amazing?

Posté 29 mars 2014 - 06:20
My pleasure! :3 The rest of the soundtrack is varied not in quality but in genre I suppose? I'm on my phone right now so when I get back in the house, I'll edit this with another example that I like a lot from it. Angel in the Dark is definitely the most grandoise song in the series though, and the context it falls in is just perfect for me. It might sound silly but I still get chills every time I watch the scene it happens in. Boogiepop is also another case where I do recommend the dub. It was handled very well and certain characters I absolutely love their VA for.
ETA: I decided to choose two other favored tracks to show off the differences as far as the soundtrack is concerned. I'll spoiler code it so that the videos don't take up a huge chunk of the page:
I sooo don't blame you for grabbing the Madoka art book either. If I had the funds, I'd be all over it. For now I just make stupid noises at the wiki when it comes to learning about the little intricacies of the witches' mazes and the like. I promise it won't be a five hour speech about Oktavia but yes, so much love. Funny too since episode 10 really is a big one for this series as well and probably the one I've watched the most.
Regarding Corpse Party: I haven't watched the series just yet but I have been working through the games (both the PSP remakes and the original PC98 version). Of the remakes I will say that they have the sound design down to a very unnverving level which I love. Aural horror is one of my favorite things and there have been quite a few rooms where playing with headphones just make it worse. I've read about the actual series a little bit while trying to avoid game spoilers and apparently they went kind of gore happy with it. Not necessarily a terrible thing in context, it'll just depend on how it plays out for me.

Oh good, so I'm not the only one who does that then...
Thanks for sharing the videos. I'm actually going to check out the entire OST. Even if the other songs are not as good as the first one you linked, if they are at all similar I will probably still find it great. That alone made me want to watch this series. Although tbh I'm not sure if I've even heard of it before.
I kind of want to watch more horror animes. I really have no seen much beyond Another, which I thought was great up until the ending (though the ending was still ok too).

Another is on my CR queue to be started at some point.
I honestly don't know of too many proper horror series to be honest. but a few of the friends I spoke to regarding Another all seemed to really enjoy it so eventually I'll get around to checking it out. There's a live action movie in the Boogiepop series but I personally still haven't watched it. I know the manga have been translated and a good portion of the light novels as well. The series definitely works well enough without the extra content, but at least reading Boogiepop at Dawn helps to put in slightly better context some things that the series mentions but doesn't fully expand upon.
Now I'm making myself want to watch it again. >_< It's been about... threeish years I think since I last did so. I have to remain strong though... Must continue through KlK and then roll around all over the place come Tuesday!

I mainly just liked Another because of how effectively it set the dark dreary tone. There was a few death scenes that got me to squirm a little but that was not what I found as the main draw to it as a horror series. Its the buildup around the violence that impressed me, and the dark ambiance it had. The story is decent, nothing ground shattering but I mostly enjoyed it. I like how it almost comes off as a typical slice of life, just with a really dark twist (SoL meets final destination)
It also has what I found to be a very unusual kind of twist in the middle that caught me off guard, and was sort of clever. It was more of a reverse twist, in which they built up and strongly implied something that there was going to be a twist, but then you find out thats not the case.
I have mixed feelings about how the ending BUT it mostly works and does not bring the series down significantly or anything, its just a couple of the characters just start acting absurdly irrational and crazy.
I made a bit of a rant when I first watched it about the editing on CrunchyRoll. Its the dumbest most pointless example of censoring I have ever seen. I watched the death scenes on CR alongside the unedited versions on youtube and the parts they cut out make no sense. Like in one scene a guy is stabbing himself with a knife for about 40 seconds, the entire time blood is shooting around everywhere and he is screaming and so on, the CR version cuts out like 2 seconds of it but keeps the rest as is.. wtf? Its not like the 2 seconds they cut out were anymore graphic or disturbing then the other 38 seconds.. so why even bother
? Censored my ass, do they really think they are fooling anyone?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, not enough the I would recommend avoiding the CR version, its not so much that it takes away from the story as much as its just stupid. But if you can find a HQ uncensored version then go for it. Its like if a movie had a few hundred swears in it, and then they release a censored version that removes like 2-3 swears
does that really make it anymore acceptable to watch then before?
CR can be a bit odd at times. Like how they got Chu2 long before the first season. Still, that's especially bad when they are missing episodes.
Bakemonogatari has been on my list for a while because Shaft is awesome. I feel bad because I keep meaning to make it my next thing to watch and it keeps getting pushed back.
