You know whenever you hear that theme something epic is about to go down; Aka the first time Chibaku tensei is being done in living memory or when Pain actually arrives on the scene @__@ Its simply an epic orchestral piece that was implemented perfectly into the series. You know it reminds me of this one particular moment not too long ago when i was watching Naruto Shippuden, you know just catching up and to my horror it continued the filler/flashback sequences of the folks Naruto had met before in his Journey however.
One was diffrent, This scene at first to me was nothing speicial just another random Bijuu container Akatsuki had successfully nabbed but as i watched i heard THAT Theme and i was basically O_O'' Girei?! But that means...
Scene in question i was talking about.
Crying God fits Pain perfectly as a theme.

Lol filler. Hate that crap.

What do you mean? He's talking to him parallel to Naruto.
Bout ready to table flip with Maoyu. I'm sooooo tired of this kind of protagonist and these contrived situations. I don't often drop a series I've started watching even if it sucks just out of some perverse dedication, but really now. He even has the same voice actor and looks the same and has the same title. That was cool in Samurai Flamenco because Kyon is mostly cool. But this? Bahhh.
Well. Just finished Rebellion and the headache I've been unfortunately dealing with all day is getting kind of unbearable so this initial post will be briefish.
So this still turned out longer than I expected. I need to try and sleep this headache off, and think more about the movie. TL;DR It was worth rolling around in anticipation for months and not getting a low quality version of. Probably one of, if not the most visually beautiful movie I've ever seen in my life and Yuki's soundtrack was top notch as per usual.

There was one scene that was pretty good out of the entire series. The rest was just meh. Seriously, if the demons were so advance before she was king; why didn't they take over already? It's one thing if they were around the same speed technologically speaking, but the demons were just so advanced compaired to the humans. The romance was terrible. Also cliffhanger.

The only song for Kill La Kill that stuck with me was the "don't lose your way" song. Mostly because it was jus so awesome when it played. You knew things were about to go down when it played.
Although my favorite anime song right now is "Crowds" by white ash. So good.
Trick:
Jog for the song, don't hit your sprint until 'don't lose your way.'
Proceed to sprint like a madman without stopping.
God it feels so damn awesome. And I freaking hate cardio xD

How can you forget the Godess of music that is Yokko Kanno?

I understand that, but he obviously said different things to Sasuke, afterall he is the reincarnation of Indra and you don't say the same things to you two sons who a spent there time trying to kill each other.I'd imagine we will eventually get a flashback of what was said.
Ah yeah I see what you mean now. I guess he would be more specific in his speech when addressing Sasuke so there's some gaps there as he was mostly addressing Naruto.
You can pretty much pick anything from the Vision of Escaflowne soundtrack and it would be fill of win.
My personal favorites would have to be "Dance of Curse" and "Ending Theme"

Same here but this was shameless Pain fanservice <__< Character doesn't get much spotlight in the actual series so...You won't hear my complaining.

What like Cowboy Bebop or something?
Sakura Trick could go on for a second season, but it wraps up the main conflict that came up in the first season, so there's no worry about it feeling like it leaves the story hanging. It's a cute story and if you don't take it too seriously you should enjoy it. Fluff is the key word here.
Just curious have you watched Strawberry Panic yet? Its much less fluffy then Sakura Trick, meaning it treats the romance a bit more seriously and has less fan service too. I ask because I think it may bit a little more along the lines of what you're looking for.
For Chihayafuru, the show revolves around the sport of Karuta and a club of high schoolers playing it in competitions. Each season covers one year of school, and 2 Karuta competitions each held annually. The first competition is the team matches and the second is the singles matches. The seasons basically end when the singles tournament ends. The show does not really leave you with any kind of cliffhangers, and you will get a good degree of emotional payoff, but its clear that the story is intended to continue on. So far they have only developed the romance and love triangle, theres being no payoff with that yet, but I get the feeling that it is going somewhere. Most of the emotional payoff comes with each characters individual growth throughout the tournament and how they resolve to become even better the next year.
What I love about the competitions is that no two characters are treated equally. Everyone has different skills, different strategies, different physical builds and the show loves to emphasize on how anyone can play. Even though the story has a handful of prodigies, it does not like to exclusively favor one character over the others, meaning that the main characters can and will lose just as much as they win. Whats great about that is you get to see how everyone actually improves over time. By the end of a season you will have gotten to see that characters strengths utilized, but they will also see their weaknesses and have a clear sense on how to improve. Even the prodigies that are in a whole different league of their own somehow manage to grow and improve in their own ways.
Basically long story short: The Karuta competitions and individual character arcs get satisfying conclusions, but the romance is still unresolved. Which is fine with me because the show is bending over backwards to tell me that the guy I'm rooting for ain't going to win. The third season (if there is one) would cover the third year of high school. I'm unaware of whether it would wrap it up with that or if there would be more after that.
Oh and my profile pic is actually a character from Chihayafuru, her name is Shinobu Wakamiya (don't worry, pretty sure no one here knows it
). She's the best female player in the series so far, which in Karuta is referred to as the Queen. She's pretty awesome in a bitchy badass sort of way. She kind of acts as the antagonist, but I use that term loosely since shes not really "evil" per se, more just as one of the main obstacles to overcome. She can be a ****** though, the sort of character who if someone below her skill level were to ask her to play a game with them, she would tell them something along the lines of "I'm not good enough to play with you yet, I need to practice and improve more" in the least humble way possible.
(P.S. Shes holding a card with a love poem on it, pretty sure most people are going to mistake it for a cellphone or something
)
And yeah, fingers crossed on ANR. That and Mekaku city actors by shaft are my 2 most anticipated ones coming up.
I am actually in the middle of watching strawberry panic right now, and I have to say that although it started out really slow for me (I didn't watch if for like a week, and I usually never do that, I am surprised I had the wherewithal to come back and restart it actually) I am really starting to enjoy it. it looks like quite a few of the characters that I like are going to end up alone though ![]()
so character development in chihayafuru seems to be pretty central, and I really like that. I hope (once I watch it) that it will be as engrossing as you make it sound
and if they don't make another season of the anime we can always read the manga, though I think that is ongoing too
...yes I totally thought that she was holding a cell phone >_<
and sorry if I take a while to respond isichar, as its the last 6 weeks of the semester, which means I work more not less. so not only do I not have much time to post, but my anime watching has slowed to a crawl
I think I average 5 20 minute episodes a week now which is terrible
akuma no riddle airs today! (i think?) I am going to try and watch it as it comes out, online links anyone?
Watched 3 episodes of Airbender. It's weird how you know it's an american cartoon from just the dialogue and humour. Right now it's kinda 'meh.' But look at FMA:B, my initial impressions on that were 'meh' as well, but it ended up being my favourite anime so far.
I don't know if you have continued to watch this series but... you absolutely must finish it!! all 3 seasons are good in my opinion, but the show only gets better as it goes. I have nostalgia blinders here though, because I grew up with this, but still it gets good reviews wherever you go
