Well, I just saw the trailer for the Karneval dub and now I feel awful. Greg Ayres as a "tough guy" character? Why you do this Funimation...

 

Ugh, Honestly them voicing nasally sound girls as boys annoys me oft times.

 

Happens a Lot, I am like get a bloody male VA for this role!

 

Not that same bloody girl who voices every secondary protagonist male in your entire line up!

So I finally sat down and started watching KLK.

Am several episodes in and I don't feel like finishing it.

 

The pace is redicolous, the plot ... well, horriblly put together and frankly makes no sense.

Some might say it need to make no sense and that's the charm, but to me it feels like it lacks direction. It's trying to be funny, but failing badly, and it certanly isn't deep or dramatic enough to go for a serious feel.

And the whole "accept nakendenss" thing? Really?

 

Action scenes are decent tough.

Other than that, I really can't see why poeple are raving about it. (must be the outfits and panty shots....AKA "plot")

I still think you need to finish KLK Lotion Soronarr, not because of what people say about it, but because you need the big picture in order to judge it in it's entirety.

 

Then again, if you think it's not funny, not very actiony, and don't like the general premise of the entire show, maybe stopping while you're ahead is for the best.

KLK interested me but some spoilers which I heard about the last few arcs disappointed me, it felt like it was trying too hard which from what I heard is a fairly accurate descriptor of the entire series. I'll probably give it a shot some time but I've got too many things to watch at the moment, it'll be on my long plan-to-watch list.

 

I did download Blumenkranz, however. No Germangrish can stop me from enjoying it.

While I think you should finish it, seeing as you don't really like KLKs charm I doubt you'll like it as it's charm is it's over the toppness, also saying people only like it for it's outfits is silly.

And I didn't say it sucks...just that compared to other anime, I don't see what it does better. Nor does it combine them better.

And the plot is convoluted as hell. Schools run like military, suppleid by military, governed by a student president? People fighting...well because more action is needed. Nothing in the series so far feels "natural". It's as if things happen because the plot sez so, not because it's some logical/natural progression to it.

It's silly yes.

But it's a strange kind of silly that doesn't make me laugh.

Excel Saga. Gintama. Rune Soldier. All way, WAAAY better IMHO.

But yes, the cast as a whole truly makes the show for me. Someday when I eventually rip myself back out of only thinking about PMMM, I'll get back to finishing KlK.

Yup, the strong cast, music and art style is the big reason I love the show. All the side boob and sexual outfits for me are just fluff, it's amusing but it does not make the show for me.

My thoughts exactly, House. I had seen a lot of angsting about the costumes before I decided to sit down and watch it for myself. At this point in time I'm 11 episodes in before taking a break and there's really so much more to it than the fanservice. The music too, absolutely love it! I haven't watched Gurren Lagann yet myself so I don't know if it's the same case there but I'll probably end up giving it a go at some point since Trigger has impressed me with both KlK and FLCL.

1:it's explained later why it looks like that

2:It's hardly a issue with what happens later
