To this day I will never understand how those Nazis saw through that great disguise.

I really had no idea that was Joseph.

I can assure you that mine has been nothing but art, screenshots and music from TRS lately. Which reminds me...

Spoiler

I can see that, and I approve :D

<3  the Homura gif's btw. I'm debating whether I would consider that the most glorious transformation scene in PMMM... hmm it's tough to decide

With over 40 tracks it will be a bit annoying having to relearn the songs when I get the official CD, I've already listened to it so much that I know most the songs by name just from hearing it now.. Mmm so many good tracks :D  I think my favorite is "pulling my own weight" but it depends on my mood.

Spoiler

Btw, I haven't forgotten about your PMMM post a few pages back, I think I'm just going to wait to rewatch the series before writing up a response since that should happen within a few days and I have a feeling I could end up going a bit crazy (even more then normal, this is your fair warning XD ) with this post so don't worry (or maybe you should hehe...) I haven't forgotten :P I may write up a response to mhmbaSR1 quickly beforehand since I don't think that will actually turn out too badly.

Being threatened with more conversation on my favorite subject? Whatever shall I doooo? X3 Like I mentioned before, I'm looking forward to it and will be rewatching the movie trilogy as well this weekend, so we can throw so many novels at each other! <3

On the Homura gif I reblogged last night, I keep wishing we could have gif avatars here again cause I'd most definitely be using

Spoiler
as mine. Ahh well, this one will keep doing the job.

I still disagree with Sim on AoTs pacing but oh well, different strokes for different people afterall.

So have a Satsuki.

tumblr_n321tbYObB1t1qmn9o2_r3_400.gif

Disagree all you want, House.

As long as you bring Satsuki into the picture I'll agree with anything you say <3

I still love AoT btw! I was really disappointed that I didn't have enough money to buy myself a AoT hoodie at the anime/manga con in Jerez :-(

I bought a FMA:B shirt for 15 euroes... but that hoodie was really awesome :-(

Sooooo

I finished Jormunund. It throws a lot of depth to the whole war, peace and morality theme, but it's very grey in doing so. The simplest thing you can get out of it is 'do the ends justify the means?' But that's really just touching the surface of all the stuff that goes on.

Political intrigue, war crimes, child soldiers, black ops etc etc.... think of it as Black Lagoon meets Ghost in the Shell. I know that sounds AWESOME, but trust me, Jormungund is good, it's really good, but it's not OMGIEJUIFDFUHDFHPUFNHGFP stuff :-)

Oh, and I love Koko. I don't care if she's a psycho, I just love her.

Stick that dagger in deeper please. I don't think I felt enough pain the first time xD

Oh I'll get that hoodie one day, a long with that "Keep Calm and Kill Titans" shirt. There are plenty of cons for me to go to. And if not, the internet is always an option :D

P.S Send us a picture of it when it arrives if you remember :-)

Ok now I want to read/watch this so much, even if it's not OMG like, that just sounds like a awesome combo.

Hey! Don't get your hopes up too much :-)

Perhaps it's best if you see this review first, trust me, no spoilers.

The guy gives is a verdict of 7.94/10 (he has his own rating system) round that up and it's an 8 which is what he considers to be 'Really Good.' Which it is. It isn't as great at Ghost nor as Black Lagoon, but it does have that nice comfy place in the middle somewhere. The reason I say so because it does involve itself with international economics and agency politics as well as black-market deals and of course... arms dealing. All that with a cast of colourful characters you should expect something that is worth your time.

Oh, and I love KoKo :-)

I feel like that excites me far, far more then it should lol

Thank god for the spoilers tab, I get the impression 90% of this thread would be blocking me (if they haven't already -_- ) if they had to scroll through everyone of these mini-book length responses.

And that gif would be too epic, it would be hard to write up responses with that on the side of my screen.

heh I like how you can just tell Homura knows how amazing she looks too   It's like putting on a really nice suit or dress, you just feel great.

F*ck me... now to decide 'what next?'

Ugh. I always hate this part ><

There's the whole JoJo's Bizzare Adventures thing that Some Geth showed me (and was hilarious btw) but then again...

ARRGGGHHHH!

*headbutts table*

I still need to watch Rebellion... but that's a movie, so fine, I can do that tomorrow.

F*ck it. I'm gonna blindfold myself and just poke my finger at the screen and see where it lands.

Isi: As much as I 'asghasfdasfuad  ' over her voice acting for both that and the caught you scene specifically, her facial expressions in those two scenes just sell me 100%. I totally get you about being thankful for the spoiler code too. X3 Brevity is so not my strong point when it comes to things that push the right buttons in my brain so at least I don't have to feel bad about writing a hundred page book on the series, because reading it is totally optional. :P

Ahh don't mind me, I'll make up my mind in the end, heheh :-)

Watemote is pretty epic. It's got some fierce competition but I would consider a top contender for funniest (and most awkward) anime I've ever seen. Only 13 episodes too, so its an easy binge.

Not many animes could make me pause the video from the awkwardness like this one has ^_^

Also, it has my favorite VA in anime. The main protagonists voice just has so much character, it somehow manages to be annoying and yet charming at the same time and it fits her perfectly.

oh oh, and it also has the most adorable scene in anime history...

Sound right up my alley.

I liked Black Lagoon..until it decided to jump the shark over and over with OTT stuff like biting trough knives, petite child psychos handling HMG's and terminator maids.

I hope Jorgemund is more down to earth.

There is a problem with pacing, Lotion. But as I've admitted, you are correct on its subjective stance as an effect to entertainment. You do not necessarily need to have great pacing to enjoy a story, though it does damage its dramatic effect on those that do.

Dramatic effect? What enhances one is also at least partially subjective.

Breaking the action with something completely opposed is not INHERENTLY negative. The devil is in the details.

Like I said - I don't hate KLK. And I'm holding my final verdict for when I finish it...If I finish it that is.

The current part feels like the opposite of SS sanctuary battle (that is, someone with vastly superior armor and weapons passing trough a gauntlet of weak opponents that you know stand no chance). Just not feeling invested

I'd argue why Pacific Rim works as a genuine mecha spectacle, but rather save that for a thread dedicated to films. If you feel like having this discussion then we'll have it.

I never said it didn't.

As an emulation/hommage to anime mecha, it does good.

However, you can't blame, me for wanting more.

Unless you think that closing some of the plot holes or avoid some cliches would have made it worse.

A nice shout out to one of the lesser known arcade music games, Pop N' Music. I can dig it.

I still love AoT btw!

Same, it's still on my list of anime to keep track of. Hopefully they start divulging more of the Titan origins or something besides beating the crap out of them. :P

Oh, the action isn't as over the top as Black Lagoon. But it still has some pretty bad-ass fights that aren't what you would call 'realistic.'

Yeah, but not to the point of Black Lagoon.

Dramatic effect? What enhances one is also at least partially subjective.

*sigh*

I mean no offence here, but you're STILL using action as an example. Unless by action you mean whatever is happening within the scene xD

Hmm...

What do I mean by dramatic effect? Well I'll use two examples.

Let's say I'm reading A Clash of Kings, okay? Near the end there's the battle for King's Landing with many POV's of everybody inside. There's the battle, Sansa's within the Red Keep and I think there's Cersei as well... oh, and there's Davos who's attacking it with Stannis's fleet. During this battle, it switches from POV multiple times, but keeps the tension flowing as its all situated within the battle. Now there MIGHT be one or two POV's outside, but they are there to create suspense after something incredibly awesome happens.

Replace those one or two with four Jon Snow POV's and bring in Dany to butt in the worst possible moment and there you have your pacing ruined. Since I tend to notice these things it ruins the effect. At that moment in the plot I'm not interested in what's happening at the Wall, there's time for that later. Nor am I interested in what's happening by Quarth. Sure, it creates suspense when it's just a irrelevant POV in between, but when that POV moves onto to another irrelevant POV and then another...

You lose that effect you had one POV ago. The tension, the suspense, the need to know what happens next. That's what I mean by dramatic effect, at least in this example. Especially when they are POV's that do not involve the current events in King's Landing. That part is very important, it might decide who wins the Iron Throne of not, and there are lots of POV's with very weak G.R.R brand plot armour in there xD

Breaking the action with something completely opposed is not INHERENTLY negative. The devil is in the details.

No. Not at all. You're completely right.

But you need to know when it's enough for both sides. Too much can harm anything, or why did PJ cut from Helm's Deep to Treebeard? Suspense, an alternative conflict which was also relevant to Helms Deep (if indirectly) and as well, too much Helm's Deep could have harmed the movie.

So when I used AoT (sorry House, remember I still love it to pieces) as an example of 'bad pacing' it's because far too often does it decide to drag an episode with a backstory that could have been used elsewhere.

Not that it SHOULDN'T appear. I mean, it's all very important stuff, like

Spoiler
but it's a lengthy thing that was unfitting at that moment.

Don't get me wrong, I think AoT's narrative is great. But sliding in a backstory to explain a character's relation with another character

Spoiler
didn't make anything flow as it could.

Then don't waste your time on it! :-)

If you're not liking KLK by 5 episodes in then there's no point on watching it xD it's not like it's a very long anime, so there's not much of a chance you'll like it more than any point over the first season :D

I felt kinda meh about Airbender when I first watched it, but I had plenty of seasons to see if it got better. Sadly, for KLK that's not the case, hehe :P
