Oh, the action isn't as over the top as Black Lagoon. But it still has some pretty bad-ass fights that aren't what you would call 'realistic.'

Yeah, but not to the point of Black Lagoon.

Added to my "to watch" list.

So when I used AoT (sorry House, remember I still love it to pieces) as an example of 'bad pacing' it's because far too often does it decide to drag an episode with a backstory that could have been used elsewhere.

To be fair, when someone experiences a flashback and what triggers it might be important from a character development standpoint too.

So when you say "unfitting", I disagree.

After all,

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA

WHOA

whoa.

That's a spoiler, buddy xD tag that sh*t :-)

Yes you're right, but the fact that it takes alot of the episode's time is what makes that bump in the road.

This instance is in episode 6 and it takes half the episode. I think it's the one after the 'incident.' The first half really does well to put a halt on all the fighting before. Something that I love about AoT is that it does well to focus on the psychological aspects of war as well as 'f*ck you it's not fun' part. Basically: the realities. Granted, it's a war versus Titans but the entire show does a PMMM where it makes you feel that this is going to be some great shounen and then BAM!

EVERYTHING DIES! xD

Dead people quit existing as character? People stop caring?

They don't have an impact on other characters?

They shouldn't appear anymore even in other peoples thoughts?

Or, characters shouldn't have flashbacks involving people that are dead or that don't have a big role?

I cannot agree with you.

Dead characters can still pull their weight in a story, despite being dead.

Got to absolutely agree on the part that dead characters can still pull their weight and it's very much worth to spend time on them

Sure they do. But an entire half an episode dedicated to the development of a dead character straight after their death? It's as if Tolkien decided to have a whole damn chapter dedicated to Boromir after his demise.

A nice shout out to one of the lesser known arcade music games, Pop N' Music. I can dig it.
Same, it's still on my list of anime to keep track of. Hopefully they start divulging more of the Titan origins or something besides beating the crap out of them. :P

From what I know off, if they do the next season we will learn the truth about the walls, some history of the titans, why Eren is truly powerful and who the two other human titans are.

I can't explain why but Sasha is probably my favourite AoT character. I like how she could singlehandedly end the war and she would still be unable to live down her nickname.

I would be a little heart broken if she ends up dying.

After her it would be Ymir or Levi.

Correction - development of TWO characters that are connected.

You cannot really remove the influence character 1 had on character 2, if character 1 died.

In fact, quite the opposite. Showing the connection and their development, helps put more impact on the loss.

Sasha is the best, she starts off as comic relif but ends up being a valid asset to the team thanks to her excellent tracking skills and scouting.

Well, originally Hajime Isayama planned to kill her off in one of the early chapters, but decided not to do it in the end. Maybe she has become his favorite as well! ^_^

Which is a good thing! Lack of Sasha would create a void in AoT that could never be filled, plus who would eat the potatoes?

Instead of questioning personal habits you merely could have confirmed Gender.

I've already mentioned that the flashback was vital to their relationship, so no need to correct me: I agree! :-)

And that last part I feel would be preference. The impact of a character's demise is far more effective when you care about the character. Having the flashback beforehand would have let me enjoy him a more than afterwards where development seems wasted.

From KLK to pacing, to this.

Ahhh this reminds me of my nerdy arguments with my friends before 3/4 decided to stop being nerds. Granted, I'm going to Magaluf with them but it's just not as fun when I can't go into a LOTRO vs WoW fight on the way there xD
