So I saw the first episode of Kill La Kill, shouldn't have put it off for this long. Has some of the best 3D effects I've seen in an anime, very absurdist, but great absurdist

Is it absurdist? I always thought that it must be full of Japanese puns and pop culture references that didn't translate. That must be why it's so weird.

Not the best Key anime I've seen, but it was sure a good ride from A to B 
I think it has more to do with how the ending basically made you THINK more than FEEL, even though it was trying to make you feel all the same.
Ah but never mind me, I loved it anyway. Never have I laughed so much in an anime xD
Still don't like Angel Beats, my interest was only kept because of the typical Key-type humor but it wasn't enough to satisfy me in the long run and I felt nothing but disappointment when the plot fell into a hole the size of Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I tried to like it, I just... couldn't.
Probably didn't help that I had recently finished Clannad and was seeing almost everyone as a derivative of those characters except for Haruhi Yuri and TK.

Lawrence is the king of romance. I mean, to put up with Holo's constant teasing...
Just imagine if BioWare decided to write up a 'Lawrence.' The fangirls would be soaked from Dorne to Casterly Rock.
Not just the fangirls, I wager.
Of course, Lawrence and Holo would be the sort of companions that would sell anyone with a soul on the idea of a inter-companion romance (if any Bioware game could develop them well enough to do them justice).
That said, Lawrence was a pretty good underpowered protagonist. I've done a largely pacifist Fallout Vegas playthrough based off of him. (Cass was my Holo- not quite as good, but you know. Bodyguard.)

Angel Beats, to me, is like that ugly-ass kitten you love so much. Sure I'm aware of its flaws, but it's just too fun. The feels factor isn't really there for me.
I mean, with Clannad it was like "2012 part 2" with that many tears leaving my ducts xD

Yeah, their relationship is special. And even though the books' translations aren't that great (I mean who the hell uses "the girl nun-cladded" as a freaking word?) The story is coherent and pretty good all round. It gets far more complicated and larger. As well as the whole
"I don't want this to end so we're doing something else in the mean while"
That's literally it. None of them wanted to end their journey.
It's the sweetest most heart-felt filler story ever!
P.S there's also some pretty major development within, so it's not just 'lol filler.'

Good, I say- mature people coming to deal with mature feelings, and preferably getting a happy ending from it. (And please, not of a 'they look like children' Clannad/modern-moe sort. Or 'overly drawn out romantic comedy.')
Something like Spice and Wolf, with strong characters and strong character interaction.
It still features magicla girls. Very young magical girls.
Eh, well I guess my storytelling tastes have just matured to the point that I don't worry about age/sex/race in a story

Man, I suggest you watch After Story, like NOW. The whole mood changes, Clannad becomes a nice romantic-comedy with feels, to a romantic-drama, a touch of comedy and so many feels that you'll an emotional wreck any time you hear the word 'Dango.'
