So, how's Hamatora?
Going through urban fantasy this time, I hope it will be better than Toaru Majutsu no Index. That one got an interesting premise aswell, but it turned out to be a harem show.
Hmm, I wouldn't really recommend it.
It has a few going for it. I like the opening and ending. The aesthetic of the show is fairly cool (something about the use of color has a boldness to it that reminds me of... Persona maybe?). The powers are kinda interesting and the protagonist and allies are pretty likeable. The humor isn't bad, though I seem to recall it being a little too proud of itself.
The problem is, the antagonist is just so cringeworthy stupid and bad. Not like the good "oh how delightfully evil" bad. Just moronic, IMO. The idea that his 'philosophy,' which is the whole driving force of the plot, is given any second thought at all just feels really fake and shallow.
But maybe you'll receive him differently than I did. If I ignored that aspect, it wouldn't be that bad of a watch for me.
Oh, and they have funny names. Nice, Ratio, Birthday, Three.
