I dunno if it's really a movie, it's just three different shorts put together, they were all madfe as separate, short manga stories. It's quite good.

 

At least, Magnetic Rose is.

@sim If you're looking for Miyazaki films, I'd hype for Princess Mononoke and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind the most.

 

Otherwise, Ghost in the Shell.

 

Mind Game was pretty neat.

 

You've watched the Haruhi movie, right? Disappearance of Haruhi?

So a silly and sappy urge overcame me, and I'm watching the purest vanilla romance story I know from years ago, Amagami SS. And I am shamelessly enjoying it.

 

I could talk about how I was in the mood for a feel-good get-together story with minimal drama and a happy ending, but I think what I'm appreciating and missing most of all is the art style. A high-school story where the characters are proportioned like highschoolers? Not short/rounded elementary schoolers?

 

Anime needs more adult-ish character designs.

 

 

And with that, back to the sap.

Yep, the Disappearance of Haruhi is awesome, seriously really great. That's why I'm reading the light novels (albeit at a glacial pace.) and the Ghost in the Shell one. Ironically I never liked Ghost in the Shell but I LOVED the series and it's sequel movie.

 

I'm adding these movies to my list, btw :-)

Chunibyo holds a special place in my heart.

 

Rikka/Yuuta is one of my favorite couples in fiction because of how much I enjoyed how they interacted, and I admit to having some degree of emotional investment in seeing them together, as silly as that probably seems.

I haven't seen Madoka in about a year. I want to see it again but at the moment I'm too lazy and/or stressed to watch another show in full again, even if its just 12 episodes.

 

I don't think it's Shaft's best franchise though... That one goes to something else
