I'm kind of brain dead today it seems so I'm just going to copy and paste my mini review for SSY from my Tumblr here:

 

So. I finished Shinsekai Yori last night. To say it exceeded my expectations feels like it isn’t even doing it justice. Definitely throwing it into my cauldron of highly recommended (which is vaguely amusing since that cauldron is mostly filled with soul crushing stuff but shhh). Now to just roll around in anticipation for the novel’s fan translation to be complete.

 

10/10 Would cry again.

Almost done with Trigun and I'm really loving it. Vash is such an amazing character. The cast is great too.

 

But, the thing that I love the most about the anime so far, is Bridget Hoffman singing as Rem. Just beautiful.

My favourite character was the priest by far :-)

 

Yeah, I really liked him too. I liked how he was different from Vash and didn't always agree with his views.

Hello just reached episode 28 in FMA: Brotherhood it has been a hell of a ride so. So many feels lol it was intense watching Mustang toast Lust, kind of felt sorry for her even if she is a psychotic @&$*#. Lol I'm going crazy trying to figure out who else might be a imposter.

So i'm totally digging Gurren Lagann and so far the characters introduced have been quite great. However one thing in particular has captured my heart

Finnished Trigun. The final episode was alright, but it could have been beter. All in all, I must say that I prefered the first half of the anime when Vash was still such a goofball and not too much serious sh*t was happening all the time. It felt like it was going downwards a bit when that started to happen alot.

 

Stil, I really enjoyed it and will totally recommend it to anyone who loved Cowboy Bebop (though its not on the same scale as that one.)

 

8/10.

Watching Ergo Proxy -- So far it includes some of my favorite things from a fictional medium -- It's first and foremost cyberpunk, which is among my favorite genres, and it carries what I like best about it. A bleak dystopian setting with a psychological storyline, a noir-inspired narrative & atmosphere, with beautiful 2D & 3D mixed visuals in its animation -- It's somewhat creepy, intense and "edge-of-your-seat-delightful". Finally, it has Radiohead's Paranoid Android as its ending theme. That's enough to even warrant it watchable for me alone.

 

 

The voice of the main character in the show sounds suspiciously a lot like Naoto from Persona 4 (the game that is).
