Kishimoto doesn't plan ahead well, he's all about the shock value, so it fits with his modus operandi. Some Geth wrote...
If it was Rin it would be just as stupid.

The only thing that One Piece kind of had as "shock value" was the Supernovas showing up, but the Supernovas were cool at least.

For me, I usually find it tough to get into long format anime. The only two I've ever honestly loved are Dragonball/Z and YuYu Hakusho (and if you wanna count the first version of pokemon). My friend has tried to get me into One Piece and Gintama but for some reason I just can't get into them. I usu just stick to short format stuff myself.
I tried watching a few episodes of naruto. Dont think ill be able to keep this up.. especially when there are over 400 episodes.... O_O.. I loved yu yu hakasho. www.youtube.com/watch
I like your avatar for some reason.

Shock value/cliff hangers when properly used keeps the reader hooked as the arc reaches it's climax. Unlike Oda, Togashi, and Shimabukuro, Kishimoto abuses it like there's no tomorrow, and they mostly have no impact on the story afterwards.(E.g. The whole identity of the 6 Paths of Pain reveal, Naruto confronting his inner darkness, Edo Tensei Zabuza, etc.)Some Geth wrote...
That's one of the many things One Piece, Hunter x Hunter and Toriko have over Naruto, the writers plan ahead.

Yeah, Yu Yu Hakusho has the greatest OP song ever. Period. I personly like a few others a tiny bit more, but rules are rules. That OP cannot be beat.
Well of course you do! Yamada is iresistably awesome. And your avvy is very nice as well.

For me Sailor Moon was the very first anime I ever saw. YYH and DBZ were soon after though. And I need to get SCV. I love the fourth game.
And my avvy is from B Gata H Kei.

The only thing in SCV is arcade mode and lam story mode. There is no weapon mode, tower of lost souls, team matches, etc. There arent even character endings in the arcade modes..

Of those mentioned above I loved Samurai 7 (I cannot stress this enough), Berserk, Ergo Proxy (I have a Re-l and Iggy wall scroll!!!), FMA, Cowboy Bebop and Soul Eater (maybe not love in the case of Soul Eater, but pretty damn close).
I hated Claymore. My gods that ending. YUCK! I didn't care too much for Blue Gender.
I was going to check out Black Butler next. That seems like a fun premise.
Anyways... I was looking for some feedback... maybe some suggestions and this seems like the right place to do it.
So thoughts?

By Full Metal Alchemist do you mean the 2003 series or Brotherhood? Either way if you've only watched one watch the other.
Oh and Black Butler is quite good, of the four episodes I've seen at least.

Also what do you think about Toriko?
Personally, besides the already evident dragging on (both in terms of episode/volume count and pacing - which really is the factor that makes anime brain-dead imo), it's the only anime I can think of besides Kaiji that uses a controversial and in real life very serious and important theme in a way I'm appalled with. (for example, I don't consider sexism to be even a bit as serious as topic as poaching or gambling idiocy)
Toriko just kills off wildlife and indulges in gluttony. That's it. (and Kaiji indulges himself in money-needing idiocy, with not a single smart man in the world besides him even).
Really, there might be some value in the most popular anime (Bleach, OP, Naruto, now CG, Toriko etc), but I have always missed it, and thanks to the pacing and often the "intelligence" of ALL characters there (i.e. the depiction of humans), felt them as brain-dead. Quite frankly.
These animes don't have anything to say really, they don't contribute (to culture, thought, or whatnot). (again, from my perspective, and from what I've seen - which is quite frankly a lot considering my overall dislike for them)
Still, I wouldn't say these shows don't have any enjoyable aspect to them, and as reality has it they in fact do have some, and these merits are such that make people love the animes overall. (though the undynamic and often popular show type does have less diversity than others)

I've seen mostly the dubs.
That's the problem, right there if you ask me.
(at the very least and most painfully so when it comes to DB, and really with MOST shows - I wouldn't say anything about a piece without referring to the original)

I've seen the 2003 series and I have FMA Brotherhood collection 1. That is on my hit list, but I think I will watch Black Butler first. And as per Raging Bull's recomendation, Darker than Black is going up on my priority list.
Thanks for the recomendations guys and gals! <3

Hunters like Toriko only hunt what's designated by the government. They always consume what they've hunted in order to evolve(lol gourmet cells) without life wiping, or over hunting. Plus the manga is extravagant in the fact that the characters fight Godzilla like monsters with their hands, plus they hunt non sentient ingredients like Bacon Leaves, BB Corn, Ozone Herbs, and Bubble Fruit.
The post is based off of the manga, and not the anime which i ignored like the plague, because i hate filler due to it being non canon, numerous, and derpy out of character moments.

As to the poaching, well, regardless of the lore it does seem as such (mainly because of the "lowly drawn out" motivations and the main theme of gluttony) and in parts unredeemingly propagating a distorted behavior and view regarding nature. Sure I've seen the appeasing parts like Toriko saving the big white wolf - but that depiction of wildlife isn't at all believable and real. The fact I'm a bit appalled is much personal - I guess it's similar to Some Geth hating on fanservice and sexism, but really, if there isn't proper depiction and knowledge about nature it turns me way off, and is immoral even, in a crude way and objectively.
Also, I must digress from my post in parts. I have found some parts of these popular shonen interesting, and remember fondly the fight between Gaara and Lee (ep 50 or something). Bleach had pretty cool music and character stylistics' and from the murkyness of dull pace there seems to shine through a hope for Adventure in One Piece and Toriko (although I'm probably not the type to appreciate that genre properly)...
