I heard the second season was like, nplan, (gibo word, ignore) really sh*tty. I hope not, because Darker than Black is on my list too.

Would recommend Ergo Proxy if you like some good Cyberpunk.

So Gurren Lagann finally (19 episodes in) started to become interesting and now i see more of what i've heard of it. With the more grown up characters it just became a bit better and the coming episodes look quite promising!

On the side i got K-On! going, finished the first season tonight and it's been a good side dish. Been some enjoyable episodes but mostly quite awesome characters. It's been shining enough for Gurren aswell and with Gurren picking up good speed i got a lot of awesome episodes to watch with the second arc looking awesome and K-On! Season 2 on the side

Sorry, I watched episode 4 before going to bed yesterday.. shoulda said something on the thread

 

Episode 4 didn't pull any tears from me like 3 did but it was still a good episode with an amusing ending

Going to try to binge through the rest tonight so that I can start up Utena which Ani as managed to get me just a bit too hyped up to see... anyways expect more emotions later

So I started watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time, it lives up to its legacy. Spike's a clever little bastard, and is probably my favorite "Sci-Fi Rapscallion" a la Han Solo. Almost like Tyrion with fistfighting The setting itself, at least relative to anime, was definitely a trendsetter and has a very specific vibe to it.

The episodes are quite varied, bouncing anywhere from stories of tragic villains to walkin' a dog. Episode 4 makes me wonder if that inspired the futurama villain Mom. Suspicious. >.>

Anywho, it's been very satisfying so far and look forward to moar.

Ok well, I'm watching episode 7 atm. 6 got the feels flowing again after a couple less emotional episodes. It's already a great show and I'm completely invested but something just sort of irked me the wrong way at the end of 6.. the scene in which Jintan walks in on Anjo as she's changing or w/e and she starts throwing all the stuff at him screaming "Pervert! Pervert! Pervert!" as he runs out screaming.

 

That scene is just too... animeish for my tastes XD OTHERWISE I'm enjoying this series immensely.

 

Mm another thing I keep noticing with the animes I watch that I like is how awesome the dark haired girl with glasses always turns out to be

Speaking of the remake, do you think they will be sticking closer to the manga this time around (especially with Stars I feel they missed out on a lot: Asteroid Senshi, Sailor Chi & Phi, Sailor Mnemosyne & Lethe)?

 

Not entirely sure, but my understanding is they are planning on "going at it from a different direction" if what I'm told is true so it may end up being something different from the previous manga or anime.

 

That one and the new Fate/Stay coming out this year are the two I'm keeping my eye on the most though, so hopefully they do not disappoint.

COLONEL MUSTANG AND LUST ARE SLEEPING WITH EACHOTHER?!!!??!

 

Oh yeah, it's just one of those moments that makes me go XD and then they start the next episode with the romantic love interest tripping and falling on the main character XD To be fair I only notice these things because everything else with the characterization has being top notch for me.

 

This is going right up there with Chihayafuru and Welcome to the NHK in terms of characterization. Just goes to show even a shorter series can make you love the characters if they are well done.
