As to the poaching, well, regardless of the lore it does seem as such (mainly because of the "lowly drawn out" motivations and the main theme of gluttony) and in parts unredeemingly propagating a distorted behavior and view regarding nature. Sure I've seen the appeasing parts like Toriko saving the big white wolf - but that depiction of wildlife isn't at all believable and real. The fact I'm a bit appalled is much personal - I guess it's similar to Some Geth hating on fanservice and sexism, but really, if there isn't proper depiction and knowledge about nature it turns me way off, and is immoral even, in a crude way and objectively.


Also, I must digress from my post in parts. I have found some parts of these popular shonen interesting, and remember fondly the fight between Gaara and Lee (ep 50 or something). Bleach had pretty cool music and character stylistics' and from the murkyness of dull pace there seems to shine through a hope for Adventure in One Piece and Toriko (although I'm probably not the type to appreciate that genre properly)...

Well I would agree with you about Toriko, in the sense that the wildlife is not believable and real. I would then add it's not really meant to be, I mean look at this.

 

One of the first beasts we see Toriko take down. At this point you can tell the series is not trying to be realistic or serious. Not that is wrong for a series to be, if it can pull it off.

I mean it's a fantasy world, it's got proper depiction and knowledge of it's nature but not our world's nature. Something to keep in mind.

Again in the past I have said I don't hate fanservice, just bad fanservice. But sexism can go die in a fire.

But at least you seem to know that Toriko and One Piece all about the adventure.

I googled it and the opening theme is called "Kiri and it's by "Monoral". That's all I know.

The song kind of reminds me of the opening song to smallville except this one is way better.

Oh. Thought you'd know about the OST by now since you saw the series before the rest of us. Only downloaded the OST earlier. Sounds great for ambiance. When did you watch it? It came out in 2006, I never knew at all back then. I finished high school in 2006 lol.

Censoring what? its the exact same as the DVD releases. Except that recently Funimation uploaded some English dub episodes, but only up to ep 4. I assume they may add the rest later, as the oldest videos were uploaded long ago (year or two old), so the rest are subbed.

I'm not complaining though. Most foreign stuff, especially anime, I prefer in Japanese. But then I watch again in english. Hope they put up the rest of the dubs.

Yup thats it.

Also its not a first season, its just the entire series, no seasons, like some anime do. Such as Evangelion.  Good stuff.   I love deeper, philosophical anime.  I can't get into Naruto either.  can't stand it.  And the orange suit is obnoxious lol.

Naruto as a brat was a much better character than the Ninja Jesus that he becomes later on.

And yes they do drag the series, "they have to" or else they will catch up to the weekly ongoing manga. Same for One Piece, Dragon Ball, Toriko and a ton of other series.

The english dub in Ergo Proxy is pretty good. Better than most anime and much better than the dreaded HEROIC AGE. Though I am not sure if that was just a terrible anime or if it was the English dubs fault.

Maybe a bit of both?

In that anime, all of the characters were like "Hey guys, stop the action, I NEED TO MAKE  A SPEECH!!!" Like every two minutes this happened. You want to see a cool space battle? With ultra-cool mechish beings wail on each other?

No sir, I need to make a speech first. This may or may not take up the entire episode. Maybe you will get to see some hot battle cruiser on battle cruiser action.
