Noooo, whatever you do, don't watch DBZ in subs. The dub is perfect.

Oh, but Reezy said something about changing the voices... ah well, if Kai's dub is good, it's good. xD

They changed like maybe 3 characters or so from the old DBZ, but thats really it.

The protagonist still has the same voice.

Frieza in the sub is better.

The problem I have with Kai is that it doesn't have the awesome Bruce Falconer music, Gohan's voice actor makes me want to pull out my thumbs, lots of good memorable scenes were cut out (especially certain backstories -- I don't mind missing out on Garlic Jr. but most of the stuff in DBZ was fine aside from that), no Buu Saga, I prefer Drummond as a Young Vegeta on Namek -- his scream when he discovers a certain Dragon Ball is missing is perfect (Sabat has gotten old so hearing him voice a young Vegeta in Kai was a bit jarring). He's good as Vegeta post the Frieza & Namek stuff though, no question.

In retrospect, I've come to this point where I've started to appreciate TFS' version of DBZ more than either or :P

I thought you didn't like the Buu saga? I remember you saying that they should have ended it with the Cell Games.

That's true, I did, but the main problem is that ignoring it won't make it less canon. Anyway, you're right, it's not as major a complaint as the other stuff that was cut anyway.

They are busy with the Buu saga actually for Kai. It should get released this year. :)

I do agree though that the best dub for DBZ is DBZ Abriged. They make every anime beter :P

For DBZ I'd personally recommend the original dub for one reason and one reason only: the OST.

Also I won't lie: the DBZ abridged is pretty epic.

I finished the first arc of Revolutionary Girl Utena. Even though I know this arc was just setting things up for later I still enjoyed it quite a bit, which should come as no surprise considering the parallels between it and PMMM :D Ani mentioned that beforehand though, which admittedly was a main contributing factor to why I chose to rewatch this series after so long. I'm a sucker for these metafictional deconstruction stories so I can already seeing this being a personal favorite.

You don't mess with Gohan's voice. Blasphemy right there.

:P I would only start a Crusade if they had changed Goku's voice. B)

Though tbh, its been so long ago since I watched the original DBZ that I don't even remember Gohan's original voice. Only remember him in our dutch dub.

Hence why I don't have a problem with Colleen Clinkenbeard as his VA ^_^

A few weeks ago while on tvtropes.org I ended up on the page for Future Diary.  It intrigued me, so I've slowly been watching it.  Just finished it last night.

Overall I liked it,  mainly because it executed many moments perfectly, but they also fell flat a few times.  I liked many of the characters (Yuno, Ninth, much of the supporting cast) but I got a bit tired of Yukiteru.  I liked the general story especially once everything get tied together and everyone's motivations are revealed.

However, there is something about it overall that makes me feel a bit meh about it.  Has anyone else given the series a watch?

Overall Impressions: Not a must watch, but if the general idea interests you, its worth giving it a shot once you have time.

Since last time it was sandwiched between winking Satsuki and Hyperdimension Neptunia, Nanana's Buried Treasure is a good one that started this season.

There's so many traps.

I liked it well enough. Was the second anime I watched and the dub is solid.

Love Yuno, she's one of my many waifus.

But Yukki? He can go die in a ditch.

Akise Aru ftw, brah.

Also, make sure to watch the OVA episode to wrap things up.
