So... I finnished the final episode of Ghost in the Shell: SAC Second Gig.....

I wanna eat lots of ice cream now... Loved it though <3

Absolutly one of the best anime's i've watched.

It's GitS, there is nothing to add. It simply is one of the best ever anime in existence.

The only thing I do not like is the new GitS series that's currently ongoing. It's ... it's wrong on so many levels. But the original 1995 movie and both SAC Gigs are pure masterpieces and a must see for every anime fan who intends to be able to talk about "the classics", among with Fist of the North Star, Akira, and Wolf's Rain.

I need to rewatch the original movie. First time I watched anything GitS related was that, and I didn't like it at all. Perhaps it's because I was so unfamiliar with the world that it was overwhelming.

After that I watched the anime series and freaking looooooooooved it, especially season 2.

So I wanna give the first movie another chance.

Just make sure it's the original 1995 version, not that stupid 3D animation beshizzled remake thingy.

By the way, the very first time I ever saw anything about GitS was this music video:

I remember reading about that remake a while back and then apparently proceeded to repress the memory. I still need to check out Solid State Society myself. Kind of figuring I'll go through the first movie (since it's been a very long time since I last watched it), all of SAC (I remember preferring the 2nd Gig myself), *maybe* watch Innocence again cause I don't really remember it and then close it out with SSS. That's way down the current list though since it'll take quite a chunk of time.

I love the original 1995 movie, but I hear its nothing like the show.  Completely different vibe.

lol

I liked it well enough. Was the second anime I watched and the dub is solid.

Love Yuno, she's one of my many waifus.

But Yukki? He can go die in a ditch.

Akise Aru ftw, brah.

Also, make sure to watch the OVA episode to wrap things up.

I actually liked the dub, and ended up watching the whole thing that way after giving the first few epiodes a try with both sub and dub.

Akise was kinda the hidden star of the series, but Yuno does steal the show.

I'll make sure I check out the OVA.

But Yukki? He can go die in a ditch.

Quoted again for ultimate truth.

Worst part about picking what to watch next is not that i got nothing to pick from but TOO much to pick from so i don't even know

Oh, actually my list of must watch anime is relatively short. Though possibly because it's only the MUST WATCH category, not every anime I ever liked:

Ghost in the Shell (1995)

Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex

Akira

Wolf's Rain

Fist of the North Star

Ninja Scroll

Sword of the Stranger

I did rewatch Akira on YouTube, I barely remembered that one :x The visual intricacy is very impressive, considering it's time. Maybe not the most complicated storyline, but how it's presented is very out there and ballsy.

Outside of Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell, I haven't really seen the rest.

Catch yourself Sword of the Stranger, the by far best samurai action themed anime I've seen. The soundtrack is brilliant and the animations simply aweinspiring. Story is decent too, but you'll forget that as soon as the action is starting anyway!

You did always strike me as a fan of Demo D Neo.

But yeah, Sword of the Stranger is very gud.

Fun fact, that was the first time I saw any of his videos and I only found it by accident as I was searching for a decent short clip from the movie.

You can only guess what my recommendation would be for GITS... (and for anything in anime aside Haruhi... and maybe some others)

So I finished all of the animated Darker than Black material. The second season wasn't really as good as the first IMO and the ending was even more vague and stupid, but the biggest question was addressed in the last four OVAs at least, so that made up for some of what felt left out of the second season. So much so that if someone else wanted to watch I might suggest watching the Gaiden OVAs before the second season. That's the chronological order at least.

Overall 8/10, first season alone maybe 9.

But Yukki? He can go die in a ditch.

Just don't say that within a 100 mile radius of Yuno.

The moment I watch the 1995 movie again, I'll let you know my thoughts. Now that I can appreciate the world and understand it a lot more, I can go into it with a better view.
