Everyone should experience this soul crushing moment imho. Honestly it's on par with listening to Daikazoku from Clannad.

That depends.
Is that one woman character sorrounded by young, sexy men who all fight for her?
Japan has an unhealthy obsession with youth.
And there is no worse type of anime than Harem anime.
Harem is my least favorite genre, I watched love Hina as a kid and mostly enjoy it but now it's a genre I typically don't have much interest in. I noticed its fairly common for a some people to assume a mostly girl cast means fanservice though.

Well, 90% of the main characters were girls. So...
FML
Is this a serious complaint, really?

Either I had way too much Sailor Moonshine to see ugly bearded fatsos instead of cute girls, or that guy had too much Sailor Moonshine to see cute girls when looking in the mirror.

So the second arc is upon me, for Soul Eater that is. Episode 33, so I'm a bit into it. Yeah, it is going iffy, but good thing the characters are strong enough to be able to hold up to it. It's a battle anime, I don't really mind if the overarching plot is iffy as long as it keeps my interest with what essentially got me hooked to it in the first place.
Too bad it ain't got romance aside from hints of it.
Yeah... I checked it up. It doesn't :'-(
How much does it deviate from the manga? If it's FMA-FMA:B style, I'll give it a read after I'm done with the anime. It's essentially a different story if deviates that far.

Might as well recommend me some anime that does have romance in it
I wanna see some more of that.

I have that on my list. But apparently it's kinda meh. But that was from one guy only, and I've seen it on many people's top 10 lists, including people I trust.
But then again...
So is Bleach.

Full Metal Panic? I absolutely loved it. Thought it was a nice mix up of Cold War mecha warfare mixed in with elements of high school comedy.
The major disappointment would be that the anime hasn't been revived for a 3rd season and thus, in a similar fasion to Durarara, it ends on a cliffhanger.
Chris Patton as Sosuke is awesome.

Added it to my To Watch list. What about the OVA? Or does that one not take place after season 2?

You mean Fumoffu? I suppose you could say it takes place between Season 1 & The Second Raid but it isn't part of the main story. I highly recommend watching it. It places larger emphasis on highschool part of the anime but due to how utterly anti-social Sosuke is, it makes for some good comedy fun.

Think there is, yes -- I hope it gets picked up eventually with a new anime season since I don't read manga. ![]()

Eureka 7 is another mecha one with romance in it, but the emotionless girl variety.

Perhaps so but I liked how the relationship developed especially near the end of the second season. Given that the anime ends there for now I can't how it's gonna go from there though. In retrospect, there aren't many animes, with romance, which I found to be quite good, with the few exceptions of Full Metal Alchemist and even Panic.

Watching Haruhi has left me with only a desire to strangle that witch.
But you did watch it. ^_–

It starts deviating pretty early into their fight with the spider witch, and the ending is completely different. Apparently both endings are meh. But the manga has gender swapping adventures, so yay?

Yeah the gender swapping stuff was the last thing that was cool in Soul Eater.
