Fair enough... I think I might watch the first few episodes of this once it comes out. Again, I'm really really glad that it's at least decent. Not AASDIODJAWAMAAZIINGG - but decent enough that I don't want to cry in a corner and swat myself with a mace.

 

Is there really dubs that bad?

It's not so much about new stuff, just better stuff.

 

Like I have been keeping the dub on in the background since it started on Toonami. And now I recall some of the reasons why the anime is not as good. Damn those filler scenes in the first few episodes for one thing. They made Eren come off very whiny. It's like they didn't read the manga. Even tho they knew the Mikasa flashback was coming.

 

I also hate when the anime looks cheap. But that's not really just a problem only of AoT. That's something that happens to most ongoing shonen manga to anime shows.

AOT's... I'm being biased since I've watched that 3 times. But f*ck is it horrible.

 

Oh, and there are even worse dubs in OTHER languages. Geth's shown me something in Dutch that was... unpleasant.

Still need to watch AOT looks like i'm watching it subbed. Whenever the hell I get round to it.

Mind you Sim there are Death Note fans out there that would say the same thing about the Death Note dub.

 

That L is awful! And Light just sounds like an evil Amuro! Well that part is true. lol But you get what I mean.

 

 

I mean cheap like normal bad panning shots and sh!t like this. But it's not that bad seeing as it does look better than some other shows and the manga has some art issues anyway.

Pretty much, people who don't want to watch the sub for whatever reasons will at least get a passable dub.

I died a little when Kamina died :-/ - but then again, part of Gurren Lagann's appeal is Simon's development. I really couldn't stand him at first. It's really what Yukki from Future Diary should have been

I think I'm one of the few that didn't care that much about Kamina tbh xD I mean, I liked the guy, but his death didn't do much to me.

Though, I liked his relationship with Simon alot. It felt like him beign Joey from Yu-Gi-Oh and Simon beign Yugi

But we were told at the very start of the first episode it was Simon's story (they didn't actually say simon), we should have known Kamina wasn't going to make it. But like you I like Simon's growth he gets all Kamina's strengths but none of his weaknesses, lets face it Kamina while being AWESOME wasn't the greatest thinker

Well to be fair, the Dutch are pretty awesome gamers xD never have I played with a raid group that doesn't have a freaking amazing Dutch tank on the team.

But I need my anime to be censored as fiercely as a gay man in Moscow, so I can't tell what it's about anymore -- Not to mention it is absolutely required that they all have obscure American names with wacky dialects and beastly things like Raa-men or nooodles, be changed to Hamburgers and fries just to add to my immersion as an uncultured European scrub. Doing this will also ensure the plot be altered slightly in order to make way for at least the occasional friendship speech, product placement and merchandising. :I

I'm not sure about the rest of it but the first part of that AoT dub Sim linked the other day was pretty bad, the ones with Pixis or w.e giving the motivation speech.

I don't think Milan appreciates just how traumatizing riceballs can be for an American viewer.
