So I saw the first episode of Black Lagoon, is it wrong that I laughed a little at the theme song? The music itself is pretty badass, but the lyrics are kind of, um... yeah.
I sped through it a bit, and the best parts tend to be Revy and her action scenes. The storyline didn't do a great deal for me, but to each their own.
Don't worry, man. I thought the same exact thing. Though I do like a few of the supporting characters to.

Yeah, it pretty much gets pretty awesome from 9 onwards, a lot more focus on the story :-)
And episode 10 will pull those heart strings once you make the connections. They're subtle, but they are there.

Yeah, I'm hyped up for 10 after your post the other day 
This series has already impressed me immensely and it's even better knowing I still have more to look forward to.
I can already say this is going to be a contender for my top 5 animes list. Each episode has had a theme that its displayed well and the series has a theme of connections that it's displaying quite well. I really do hope the ending does not disappoint.

Episode 9 was amazing. Storytelling at its best imo. I seriously I don't understand how people could be upset with the story focus shift 
ah well. Going out to grab breakfast and then I'm going to watch 10.
I'm like 95% certain this is going on my top 5 afterwords now.

Just finished 10 of Kaiba. The story has become like crack to my brain and feelings. I'm sad in a way that it all has to end so soon.
I can't wait to download and listen to the entire OST afterwords.

Dunno, felt kinda contrived for me. Depends on how you see it really :-) - I suppose the whole 'accidents of life' apply to that scenario. Thing is, I've never been a big fan of it.
And admit it, you have a soft spot for him cos he's called 'Popo' like a certain awesome person we know ;-)

Will be finishing Roberta's blood trail tonight and once again i'll have to pick the next anime and the anime hydra just keep getting more heads. Since i'll at least TRY to not pick one of the really top of the top notch animes that i've kinda been able to do i'm finding some issues actually. I can always go with one of the famous ones if i'm incapable of picking

I'd say go for Kaiba, but I don't know if it's a good idea because you've just come out from Black Lagoon. Not that it's any worse, it's just that its art style will be kinda of a shock for anyone if they come out from something as gorgeously animated as BL.
Here's one for you: When they Cry.
It's a horror anime and pretty f*cking fantastic too. The story is divided into season one (Ni) and two (Kai.) Ni is basically the 'question season.' You will go through a number of arcs all depicting the same week of the same month and the same year but going in different scenarios. All through out the season you will be coming up with theories as to why things are happening and how they're all linked.
Then comes Kai which explains EVERYTHING. And I **** you not. It does a superb job at keeping the narrative going forward whilst explaining everything in the past. Why x and y happened, why this and that happened because of that etc...
One thing to keep in mind that everything is connected. The different scenarios, why they play out the way they do, why things happens a certain way, whether it's super natural or just coincidence... EVERYTHING is explained.
The good thing too is that its style and introduction to every arc makes you THINK its a slice of life comedy, but then it turns SERIOUSLY twisted.
It's kinda a spoiler I guess, but might as well, just to show you the contrast.

The problem is that you'll wait 26 episodes to find out what the hell is REALLY going on. And the only actual scary arc is the first. The others have their creepy moments but the first takes the cake. It really is f*cking creepy those first 3-4 episodes.
Oh and go for the subs. The dub for this is horrible.
Aside from When they Cry...
Maybe you fancy some comedy and action? If so...
JoJo... yeah it's bloody fantastic, especially when Joseph Joestar is the protagonist. Didn't like Jonathan all that much (but I did feel sorry for him.)

Clannad and Afterstory + Anohana. Yep, pretty much the cry your f*cking eyes out anime.
Of course there are others...
You watched Code Geass yet? The dub is fantastic (Steve Blum ) and it's pretty f*cking god-teir hehe.
