Got to EP 16 of Zipang.

 

Great watch.

One thing that irks me is that the Mirai seem to tell everything about itself to almost every japanese they meet, but they are very slow to actually communicate with US troops, and when they do it's usually in threats and warnings.

 

It never occurred to them to try a more friendly tone?

So decided to go with Jormungand and the first two episodes carry a lot of promise that it will at least be an amusing ride and perhaps even a memorable one. Really do like how it distinguish itself from what i saw in Black Lagoon with some very adorable silly. So far all of it can be credited to the one wonderful lady with the delightful smile

It comes across as really creepy...and it seems 90% of women in that anime share the exact same smile/mouth.

 

And the thing about her being an arms dealer that can somehow launch 100 satellites in orbit and hack/listen the military is totally whack. Not to mention her "plan".

Like I said, the crew of the Mirai is running on insane troll logic.

 

Really the only worthwhile thing to this anime is the Mirai kicking the ever living shits out of the naval aviation torpedo squadron that tries to attack them.

I reserve my love for characters that are more than a shallow, walking schtik.

Also I keep it safely locked away so it drips constantly, instead of flooding out and soaking other peoples shoes.

What do I watch straight after I finish JoJo? There's OVAs + 2000 + Stardust Crusader. So... which one goes first?

Stardust I think as it a continuation of the anime you are already watching.

Our love for the these ladies is unique and sadly not everyone will be able to understand it. All we can do is move on and dodge their lack of understanding

90% of all anime is craptastic. Not much of an achievement there.

 

 

And I stand by my opinion that the Mirai crew is running on insane troll logic. They are always about trying to minimize casualties and rescuing lifes, yet team up with WW2 Japan ... because reasons?

 

Okay, I admit I am a bit jaded because I know how the manga goes on compared to where the anime ends, but if they TRULY wanted to minimize casualties, they should go scuttle their damn ship and simply migrate into the japanese society (being japanese should make that not much of a task ...) and let history make its thing. And if they TRULY wanted to change history for the better, then joining WW2 Japan alongside with the equivalent of the Deathstar is the LAST thing any sane person would do, least of all any sane person trying to minimize human loss, because history knows the japanese of that time we anything but a peaceful bunch.

If everything I loved had to be at the standards of Ghost in the Shell I might have just stopped watching anime months ago.

 

Besides, there is value in almost everything. Those 'shallow, walking schtiks' are freaking awesome. They are characters I enjoyed more because of their simplicity rather than searching for complexity that really shouldn't exist in an anime like Kill la Kill.

 

I enjoy shallow stuff too occasionally...

I just don't obsess over it.

Couldn't have said it better myself bro!   I've never once believed any of the characters that i adore to be the most complex characters ever. I just love them for what they are..
