Nah, that's the darkest it gets. But the rest of your feels will be warm and fuzzy feels that won't make you want to kill yourself, rather, it'll make you appreciate life and everything around you more xD
Don't get me wrong. There are dark parts. But Tucker's experiments is the darkest part of the anime.

So I was writing my Bebop analysis but then I got off subject by talking about anime in general as a medium, it's growth, Hayao Miyazaki's effect on the west etc. and now I've ended up with walls of text about that -- So I decided to separate it into different columns and just write about that first given how awkward it felt like suddenly having to remember YOU'RE TRYING TO WRITE ABOUT BEBOP, DAMNIT. Felt like I needed to talk about the former, anyway, even though I've written about it like 3 times before, lol.
Make sure to link it when you're done.
Or else me and Isi will find you and beat you up with our Kyubey pillows.

Yay! You started watching it!
If it ends in a cliffhanger I'm going to force you to watch KissXSis' OVA episodes 10 times in one night.
You won't survive, trust me. xD

It's like when I start talking about Super Sentai and ending up talking about what effect it had on the west.
And then I ending up talking about what effect Power Rangers had on Japan!

Just try to talk about only Bebop, the themes of it and the things that went into Bebop. Like a lot of the western theme stuff and music it has going on. Keep it simple but interesting. That's what I try to do.

I don't know, the last 20 episodes just take your feels and stomp on them into bloody paste and then dance on it.

LMAO - Well, I wanted to make a small reference to the general growth of anime as a medium but ended up getting off-subject. This always happens with me though. And I'll definitely get into all of that for sure.

Even with Toonmai back on the air here, I say anime is still very much a niche thing and I am very much fine with that. And it is sort of the same deal in Japan too.
For every Miyazaki movie there are like 30 anime shows about a "relatable" main character wanted to bang his cute little sister.
So I guess what I am saying is only the very few and the very best anime will ever get any respect and recognition outside of the anime market. Well that is true with all animation actually, as well as genres that have been around forever like fantasy, sci-fi and of course tokusatsu.
But what do I know? For all I know Japan is what people on the internet say it is, a goofy wonderland that never makes fun of anyone for what they like and how they act.

This is the greatest gif I have ever seen.
Though why there are red lines on the neck and belts...I don't know.
It's like in Dino Thunder when they added a Sliver Stripe to the Green Ranger for no reason.

It's because they are American Powerful Rangers duh. The show Japan took the idea for Super Sentai. Since Super Sentai is a big f**cking rip-off.
Everyone knows that.

I'd be exaggerating if I said anime wasn't still in the state of not quite getting the recognition I feel it deserves. I also made the point of referencing things like Ghost in the Shell, Bebop, Miyazaki, Akira & Evangelion in particular, being among the few examples of Japanese animation that reflects its content on a slightly older target audience. So, it's not like anime is the way people in Western countries of Europe or North America might think. Miyazaki being the most succesful due to how his films can at best be compared to Disney Pixar, where emphasis is placed on content that can appeal to adults and younger audiences alike.
But the larger difference would be that Pixar haven't yet set crafted a film that places its appeal on adults first and children second, unlike Miyazaki with flicks like Grave of the Fireflies. I think it all might lie in how people would generally confuse the term 'Animation' as a litterary genre, when it's actually a medium of narrative storytelling production. But I'll get in on all that in my tumblr post.
Anyway, I do get what you're saying though. ![]()

Yeah I do wish sometimes there was more animation shows/movies of other genres and for older people. Such as sitcoms or workplace dramas. Stuff like that.
On the manga side of things I think that's why One Piece became the top dog manga in Japan. It appeals to adults and kids. Hell some teens who read it when it started are now reading it with their kids.

I cry every time in Episode 27 and 63's ending.

You know you love FMAB when you know at exactly which point in a certain episode where you're going to either jump out of your seat in excitement or cry like a baby.
