Watched a lot of Anime but stopped after Soul Eater of late. Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Samari Chapaloon, Grave of the Fireflies, Samurai 7, anything from the dude who made Spirited Away, Death Note, and a few others are really only the memorable ones to me.

Going to post a little list, and if you haven't watched any of those, I'd recommend that you do:
Kino's Journey
Mushishi
Aria
The Twelve Kingdoms
Excel Saga
FLCL
Serial Experiments Lain
Spice and Wolf

My personnal favorites are Kino's Journey, Mushishi and Aria. I love the philosophical themes of Kino's Journey and to a lesser extent Mushishi. As for Aria, one of the main criterias required for me to enjoy an anime is that I have to like the characters, and I love every single character in that anime. It's also the kind of series that gets better as you progress through it. Relaxing too. I once saw someone say that you had to put your cynicism away when watching Aria, but frankly, I found that it just pushed my cynicism away all on its own after a while.

I tried FLCL, but it just makes my head hurt. There is only so much crazy I can take. 

My wife loves Mushishi. I might give that a watch after I finish Another ( <3 Raging_Bull) and Black Butler.

^^ FLCL isn't (only) full of crazy. It has interesting symbolism going on, it's a new take of the coming-of-age story and has some awesome characters.

I'm watching Paranoia agent and this crap is jacked up.

It has so many wtf moments. In fact the entire series is one big "W.T.F."

I've been watching the first season of Black Butler and I really like that. It has just enough humor for my tastes.

The subject matter is fairly dark but that is a good thing in my book.

Sooo, about Black Butler:

This rich kid in England named Ciel watches his parents get brutally murdered (I am so tired, I almost said brutally married). He nearly dies himself and while on the cusp of death, makes a pact with a demon to help him avenge his parents in exchange for his soul.

The demon becomes his butler and Ciel names him Sebastian. Sebastian becomes "one hell of a butler" and this is a running gag in the series. In general, they fight baddies.

I am about 5 episodes in and they just took down Jack the Ripper. So yeah... worth checking out.
